I cant think of a dumber reason to make someone sit for 2 mins. The first time i saw someone use their hands on a face-off Draper did it, and i thought it was such a smart play. There is no reason this shouldn't be allowed. Taking a teams center out of the game for making a clever play is silly. Quit with all of the silly stoppages, and just let the game be played.

This happened to me last year. I went to a game, and a bunch of the kids i wanted to see were up in Detroit. I had to watch Conklin get beat up by an AHL team.

It's a week later than it used to be. It changed a couple years ago when they put the pro bowl before the super bowl.

Datsyuk really going to center that first line?? Sounds like a good idea to me. It didn't make sense that they were putting him in to win face-offs last night, but he wasn't even taking face-offs on his own line.

You may see some guys traded for picks/ prospects just to make room for the cap. I always think it is interesting to see how this kind of stuff works out.

I was going to start a new topic about this. I'm pretty interested to see what they do about this too. I wonder if they would just sit where they are for now to see who comes available, then cut out the appropriate contract to make room for a new player. -
After playing a whole game, and an overtime. A long skate from center ice to the goal might be too much work for him.

I'd say it would be Fill too, at least until we get a better look at Brunner. He has always had better numbers in shootouts than Z.

There is no excuse for this. The kid should know better, especially since he as been in trouble for drinking related offenses in the past. Someone with so much to look forward to in the future should be making better choices than this, and not putting peoples lives at risk.

This is exactly what i was thinking too. Get him some play time in Gr, and when he gets into the NHL with the great goal coaches we have this guy is going to be awesome. (hopefully)

I saw him on Sunday, he looked great. He seems to have a little trouble with rebound control, but that's something he can learn over time. He has great instincts, and looks really comfortable in there.
