Ya I like the start with Conks. Coming off a nice performance last game itll be good for him to get the confidence building. I also like this start because now in the back of the players heads they wanna play good for him, instead of relying on Howie to win this by himself. the day that people are truly proud of who they are and where they and their ancestors come from, there will be no more hatespeak in the world. somebody calls me a cracker, white trash, or whatever, i laugh. im comfortable with who i am. somebody calls a black man their respective slurs. they should be proud, not that they were slaves, but that their people with help of others overcame those obstacles and are now equal to the rest of us. if somebody calls a *** person their respective slurs, they should be proud that they were strong enough to come out of the closet to declare themselves ***, which is not the norm. (I dont mean its not normal to be ***, but its not the majority) so on and so forth. once people stop letting it get under their skin, the hatespeak will stop. its like what we tell our kids when they get bullied. quit reacting to whats said and take it with a smile, eventually they will figure out it doesnt hurt you and will stop.

i wouldnt sweat it until after this trip. EDM, VAN, CGY, and NSH will be a good test for us. I think well be surprised with the personalitys we have in the locker room. From the videos we see online that arent really pushed onto the public, especially on wingspan and pregame shows, we have some funny as guys. It is def the red wing was to be reserved to the media and not start trouble, but with guys like datsyuk, holmer, and kronner i think well get some good laughs. the part im most excited to see is babcock in the locker room and how he carries himself around the rink. I saw him in the player concourse after a win last year and it was all business still. super intimidating, and i wouldnt want it any other way. what a bamf.

Read on twitter earlier that the philly GM was contacting all teams about a replacement for pronger on D. is this the chance that holland takes to offload one of our d-men? we def got one to spare whether it be ericcson or kindl, or even stuart. not sure of their contract restrictions though..
