If thats the case it blows my mind that the wings werent able to trade away one of our players with only 1 year remaining on their contact, eat half the cap hit, but still open up room for other guys. Because when we waive a player, we eat more than 50% of their hit right? I just have a hard time believing we couldnt get a draft pick for tootoo/eaves, even if just a low one.

So when you guys say Florida will pay half of Versteegs salary (In terms of real dollars), that doesnt mean the Hawks only get half his cap hit too right? That would be a nutty rule no matter what teams are involved.

Im taking Kindl. Was starting to break out offensively towards the end of last season. If he can run the 2nd PP, that could be the key to our power play woes. Being able to apply pressure for the entire 2 minutes is the key to me for PP success.

I picked Weiss. Its not fair to have Helm be the X factor because its not fair or smart to put that kind of pressure on a guy who hasnt played in an entire year. If he ends up failing he can be replaced by a serviceable center in Andy or whoever, and it will not ruin our season. Weiss does deserve that pressure and should know how key he will be to this team right off the bat. If Franzen has a good year this season, it will be because Weiss will get in there and do all the work for him. We know what we have with Franzen, and I dont expect it to change. He can score when fed the puck, we just need Weiss to hold the fork.

As far as the trades go, I get the feeling well end up losing some guys for very little value. Low round picks or even cash. I dont really see that being a problem as long as its not a great player which it obviously wouldnt be.

Even if you suck at golf, the only possible place youll break your club while swinging is just above the head where the shaft slides into the head.
