How great is it to hear thorne and melrose calling a game

A friend of mine who works at the joe just called me. She said that he was skating this morning, and was skating about full speed. She did note that he was not in full gear which would be expected but he looked good. Shes no idiot when it comes to hockey either so this is good news.

I may be wrong, but I think in the past they have had game 1's played on 3 seperate days (in this case wed,thurs, or friday) because of the amount of series going to start. If this is true theres a chance game 2 would be on a sunday.

One thing I noticed last night was how great MacDonald was able to handle, and dump the puck by himself multiple times. Normally it scares me when goalies try that (see Ozzie) but last night he looked in control and knew where to put it and when to time it. Solid play by Mac.

Ya the GM's would be having a fit if this were true, and we def wouldve heard about it by others by now. probably just the announcers in OTT trying to make the home fans feel better.

Personally I thought Salei had a great game against the hawks. At this point of the season I would take Salei because of his experience. This is not the year I want young-ins on the blue line trying to gain experience. This may also be a little trick from babs to light a fire under Salei's ass for the rest of the season.

I guess I'm late to report my insider info. As I said in the GDT a moment ago, I was talking to an off ice official after the game at Nemo's and he was saying he didn't think it was that bad. I bet Bert was pretty bummed about it too. We all know how hard he tries to stay outta trouble.

ya that would have been a disaster. After the game I was at the bar at Nemo's, and an off ice official (not sure exactly what his job was) in his uniform walked in and had a beer next to me. He was saying how that call should have never been called at that point in the game. He also said the call on Bert was BS because Bert made initial contact with his chest, then followed through to the head. Too bad he wasnt on the ice. Besides that, for those at the game, did anybody notice when they put Ted on the big screen, only about 10% of the crowd got up and cheered, but immediately after when it was time for the pizza toss, EVERYONE got up and started cheering and flailing their arms around just to get a slice of mediocre pizza? WTF fans. The guy has him name in the rafters and all you care about is pizza?
