in college i played for northwood university acha div III. in our opening game, or warm up game, one season was against the mexican junior team. they werent very good to be totally honest. just imagine a group of college kids that never played a game together before beating a mexican junior team that had been playing together for years. thats about the level of play they were at, and i would imagine this is the same team, but probably new players by now as this was about 4 years ago. just wanted to give you guys an idea of their skill level... EDIT: forgot to mention how sweet this is. gotta love seeing hockey expand across the world. it is surprising they were able to put ice down there, i thought it was always hot down there..

i would def not want to play in the finals vs tim thomas or carey price. both of those goalies are able to stand on their head and juggle bowling balls with their feet when theyre in the zone. sounds like another js gigure nightmare...

i think hes saying that if it wasnt performance based but chosen by players he wouldnt be around. but i still dont really believe that because i think the players tend to have different feelings towards other players than the fans do. you gotta remember that these guys play on the same olympic squads, junior squads, or country men so they get to know each other more than we do. we only see the s***ty d-bag side of crosby, not the cool-tight side of him, if there is one...

do the wings usually have open practices on the road? id imagine if they did they would let the public know where as long as you know who to ask.

it kind of sucks that in the voting that the same people can vote multiple times. i understand it would be hard to limit each person to one vote, but the winners seem to be the fans who sit at their computer for 2 hours at work everyday and submit 35 votes a day for the same players. it almost turns into which teams have the fans with the most time on their hands win, not necessarily the best.

i think we struggle against east teams because we dont play them enough to get a good plan set up. i understand this works both ways, but other teams have the tendency to get up when they play us because its so rare. thats why NYI keeps beating us. its tough to play with a target on your back day in and day out.

wings play NYI at home tomorrow. philly goaltending has been shaky lately, they got a mess of a situation with bobrovsky, boucher, and leighton all playing awful. hopefully we can exploit that. should be a great game. ill be there as well.

ya forgot about versus. got that too. EDIT: I do hate watching red wing hockey on versus though, but it is nice to catch the occasional big time matchup here.

I have u-verse and I love it. I get NHL net, and most of the fsn's. sometimes the games get blacked out but as long as i have FSN-DET HD, FSN+ HD, and NHL NET im golden.

I'm with mindfly on this one. Wings got dominated pretty much the whole night. The only reason we were in that game was because Ozzie stood on his head while juggling balls with his feet. You hate to see that as a coach, especially when your team has the D that it does. Everyone knows Babs is always looking for improvement, and even though they won they didn't play good. Congrats to Ozzie for 400 and winning it like a stud.

No suspension and a raise for Paul would be nice. Its pretty lame how people sit there and provoke these actions then cry like girls when it happens. Its not like Devorski punched these guys in the face, all he did was something I do regularly when driving down the lodge during rush hour. Cry me a river if you dont like it. :nopity:

GWG should only be used if the goal is scored in OT, or the last goal in the last few minutes of the game that puts your team ahead. Maybe put a stipulation for the goal along the lines of last 3-5 minutes of the game, and game must be tied when goal is scored (obvi). The goal must also be the winner. I def agree that the GWG in the first period is garbage, and no way shows the clutch factor in the player.
