Not just with brunner, but all FA's, I think its odd that there has been very little signings by any team since the second day of free agency. I havent even heard any chatter beside that idiot "insiderr"
-
I just hope the swedes go down quick. No need to add 15 games to their 82+20ish (playoffs) sched.
-
If he gets claimed on waivers, does his cap hit stick with the canucks? or go away because hes on a different team? maybe this is why they put him on waivers? thinking he'll get claimed.
-
A couplr of the tsn guys are saying 8yr 58mil. 7.25/yr. Capgeek then tweeted that they have 7 guys signed for 44mil and if the cap stays the same this year(which it won't) they'll have 1.17mil to pay all the remaining players on their team (not signed as of now)
-
Hopefully the wings dont try to pay more than that for him.
-
sad to watch some of those videos and hear how good the calls were compared to now. Gary Thorne was a boss.

I say tactical for sure. Never want to show your cards in a negotiation, especially for brunner's sake (we actually want to sign him)

Kings just re-up voynov for 4.1 a season. gonna make it tough keep scuderi now. theyll have about 7.6mil to sign 9 guys. maybe theyll give up a forward? williams or brown? both are getting towards end of contracts. Id love williams.

Calder Cup Finals Game 4 GDT - Syracuse Crunch @ Grand Rapids Griffins

for the love of god why does the feed off the AHL site never work! always says "there are no games" when it clearly says next to it that there is. -
The ticket this morning has been talking about a tweet Dreger sent out basically saying that if PIT goes out in the next couple games that they may put Malkin on the trade block. 26 years old, next year is final year on contract. Theyre saying it would probably cost you 2-1st round picks, and a young forward and d-man (probably Nyquist and Smith realistically) Would you do it? At this point I think we could stand to part with Smith, especially if we add another top 2 dman through free agency not to mention our youth depth at D. Nyquist may be another story, but I think we could ultimately recover from that. The 2 - 1st rounders I think we could also do without regreting considering we could have Malkin for potentially 10 years if hes happy here.
-
According to capgeek, the have 7+mil of space for next year, and 10 guys to sign. Gotta believe Letang is gone next year. Id take him, might cost you 6+mil for him though.
-
Malkin just resigned for 8 years 76 million.
-
The only speculaion ive seen about it was the tweet dreger sent out before the game 4 loss, its in the OP.

Calder Cup Finals Game 2 GDT - Grand Rapids Griffins @ Syracuse Crunch

how weirdly similar does Blash sound like babs? Audio starts at 1:54. -
There is a veteran minimum I believe. 1.3 mil area. I could be wrong though.
-
I wouldnt trade Z or Pav because when you trade players of that caliber, you never get your value back in the trade (the team trading the star i mean). That is why i think you can capitalize on it. And Geno wont get 10 on the open market, not with the way the cap when down this year, and possibly can the following year. I would expect 8.5 tops for him for the cap hit.
-
Including the playoffs this season I believe we went 24-1-2 when scoring 3. The one regulation loss was game 6 against the hawks when we scored our 3rd with less than a minute left and lost 4-3.
-
all i keep hearing is,"dont trade away our future for this guy." What you guys dont understand is that he could be our future. Hes got 10 years left in him, and for the KHL flight worryers, its basically been proven that the best players in the world want to play here. The NHL is still the premier league. Period. Youre telling me that we would never recover from parting with smith or nyquist and a couple of first round picks? Picks that could end up being busts anyway. Youre recieving a MVP player. The scorer weve been waiting for. How much better could that get? What player could we get via trade or free agency that would be better? Not saying he wants to come here, or that theyll even trade him, but how could you not want this guy if available? ******* crazy asses, I need to buy some pot from some of you.
-
They would take 2 picks and 2 prosepcts because of the uncertainty of his contract. This is more of a question, but is it not possible for the wings to talk to him about an extension before they deal for him? like a sign and trade. As far as his cap hit, I would pay the guy 8mil. Hes one of the best in the league, and we would have the space. And hes 24. Doesnt Jurco make Nyquist expendable for a couple years? if thats what youre doing, youre esentially trading nyquist for malkin.

I like how everyone here is so sure that their hockey knowledge out surpasses everyone elses, especially people whos job it is to follow and cover sports. It may not have been an exact offer of what would be needed, but thats why the topic title is "what would you give up for Malkin?" And is it that crazy to think Malkin wouldnt want to stay here? Play with Pav and Z for the next 3-4 years at least? Be the missing piece in a legit cup contender? Stay in the same conference hes played all his career? Again maybe not likely, but not impossible.
-
This comment has just gotten blown to smitherings today lol. A couple sources on twitter have said that streit will not return to NYI after hearing their highest offer in the last day or so. And Mrazek has posted 2 straight conference finals shutouts. Thats not entirely proof that hes ready, but hes looking more ready than he ever has. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=424708&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed

We are 1 player away from being a contended next year. An elite scorer. At this point I think Franzen and Sammy are the only 2 we could think about buying out, and Sammy is a stretch because hes got one year left and if hes healthy he'll actually get a chance to do something. Franzen I would only buyout because of the term of his contract, but that can wait til next offseason. Tatar takes clearys spot (eventhough cleary had a solid post season) Miller stays Filp hopefully stays as long as its under 4mil (could be a long shot) or replaced Brunner gets resigned White leaves giving us 7 D Nyg and Andersson get resigned With all that happening above, we'd still need to lose someone to make room for our scorer. Could be filps spot for all I care.

though this topic should be done and over with as no amount of bitching will change it, Aaron Ward of TSN just tweeted this link: http://t.co/FFxFgSG1oC this is video showing where frolik got slashed and then as he skates back towards the bench he shakes his wrong hand like it is the one that got slashed. pretty horrible sell job.
