They didn't have any significant hockey talk today outside of bringing in their young guys for experience and spark. It was really boring.

ill be fully satisfied with at least one more win, and pittsburgh somehow not winning the cup. not too lofty expectations.

regarding that hammer and nail story that clown from chicago wrote, can someone photoshop something where the wings are the hammer and hawks are the nail? maybe wait til after the series to prevent a jinx?

I think more than not that when these guys talk like this it is to infuriate wings fans into calling in and talking hockey with them. They do the same thing with the pistons. We dont get alot of hockey calls with them compared to the other shows. When these guys fall out of character which happens sometimes, Mike has a pretty good handle on the NHL and the players in it, not just the stars. I also think a lot of wings fans hate their take because normally its pretty realistic. For example this year we werent expected to do much, and maybe only 1 out of 5 times does this scenario play out like it has thus far. Having an objective view on this team I understand why they think like they do. You must remember sports radio talk, especially afternoon drive, is all entertainment. If you want good hockey talk check out Pat Caputo, he does a really nice job. Pretty unbiased too.

To all the people who believe this OP quote, did anybody think the Isles belonged on the ice with the Pens after game 1? They ended up taking it to 6. This is the parity filled NHL now, though its very possible we lose the series, its not that crazy to think that we can pull out a win or 2.

They played it on the WRIF this morning (Detroit radio) and he did indeed blow a nut. Funny you post this as I was just looking for the same video. Even the wings website only has the NBC feed.

toots had some key mistakes the last game, and believe it led to their first pp goal. so not surprising hes out.

the interview is on live radio here the detroit. maybe on the 97.1 ticket website? and a little behind about the teemu chirping. if its about lidstrom and him being gone makes the game easier, i dont think anyone would disagree with that. but I think he says it as more of a complement to how good nick was.

On the ticket right now, theyre talking about how Babs was hot during an interview with stoney this morning. After hearing it, he didnt sound too happy to me either. Hopefully hes bringing the pain to those guys in the locker room tonight. I hate to call this a must win, but it sort of is.
