Zach was the better option before he signed. Now E. Kane is great yet no way we get him. No f****** way we acquire E. Kane as mentioned earlier by other posters. -
I live in Minnesota and all my sports friends are like OMG TIM TOLD YOU THE WILD WOULD GET PARISE AND SUTER. s***. In regards to them they are a better team and should contend for a playoff spot. We'll see. I don't think you can take this next season and determine their success on one season. Hard to look 3-4 years from now but that's when things might make them an elite team. We'll see but huge buzz here in the state of Hockey no doubt.

As much as a one year deal for signing Semin for us would be great. I don't see Semin signing a one year deal with us. I highly doubt if the Penguins are interested in Semin they are offering a one year deal. IDK but call it a hunch. Something tells me IF and only IF it's a one year deal it will be worth a little more than 6 million maybe more. Blah

That's fair. I don't see an easy fix to our defense. We might have to suck it up this season. If we could somehow overload on offense by "signings" that would be great and a have a shakey defense ok I could live with that but I know most fans would disagree. The truth is there is no easy fix since we were rejected by Suter. Everyone was so set in stone about Suter (I wasn't and I didn't think Suter is that good) but I have faith in Holland to do something. And to surprise everyone I think it won't happen till the end of summer now with July 1st and all the hype passed now. Yet I don't have the slightest clue what Holland's going to do tbh whether trade for a top D-man or whatever it is. He might do nothing. But with the money we have to spend IDK. -

No guarantee either Getzlaf or Weber or anyone else big named ala Perry will come to us. FYI. See Zach Parise and Ryan Suter this summer. I don't like the mentality of thinking oh lets just wait till next summer cause everyone wants to come to Detroit. Times are changing friend... -

The longer this Nash situation drags out for no trade to whoever. As bad it is for Nash and Columbus I feel the price will eventually come down. IMO. -

Meh because you ignored my comment about the trade deadline last season where Nash asked to be traded. People said all the prices Columbus were asking were too high YET DETROIT WASNT IN THAT MIX at the trade deadline. Prices I'm sure are the same now as they were at the trade deadline. I won't disagree with you on the bolded sentence part, however saying that we can't get Nash is false. Because of what you just said. We could end up overpaying for Nash. You said people are dreaming well if we strike out on everyone who knows? -

Sure I might agree the Rangers have more assets than us. But then this one question? What's taking so long then to make the trade? They had the assets at the trade deadline as well. Nothing happened. My guess is that they (Columbus) don't like what the Rangers are offering and they might be more interested in what Kenny's offering. Hence the rumors why we are in the mix. It has been in a ton of rumors along with the Pens trying to maybe go after Nash now too. Really surprised Nash wasn't dealt at the trade deadline and really surprised he hasn't been dealt yet. -
If somehow we got Nash and Yandle or Ryan and Yandle imo that would be > Parise and Suter

I don't think the dream is too far fetched especially if we don't sign Semin or Doan (short term). It might be overpayment for Nash maybe maybe not. And for the record were you one of the many that thought Suter was coming here for sure? Just wondering. I'm also so glad we can eliminate all the fake cap geek crap and lineups with Parise and Suter out of the mix officially now. -

Stevie Y is a legend no doubt. But hopefully he's not signing guys like Carle for 5.5 mill per season unless you have a hard on for Carle. Not mentioning that Sammy's contract is anything great on a somewhat offseason UFA note. But yeah LOVE STEVIE to death but don't think he has proven himself as a GM unless I'm wrong? Seriously though I think at somepoint, Stevie Y will (eventually) be OUR gm. Safe to safe that? But just thinking the offeseason isn't over and people are judging way too quick. (no pun indeeded) -
