  1. No. Pavel Datsyuk > Anybody. Just the psychological effect he has over goaltenders is unbelivable. Imagine being a goalie, you face Datsyuk in a shootout. All you are thinking is that you don't want to be on any highlight reels. The bottom line is that Pavel has moves that even NHL'ers can't dream up. He is unreal.

Babs disagrees with you. He used Sid twice in the SO against Hiller, who was super hot coming into the Olympics. Sid = Dats. Both guys are unbelievably high on the % and creativity charts on SO...

    Remember this?

And to whoever said Datsyuk always comes with speed:

  2. I don't think it is the same thing:

    1) Not a blindside hit

    2) Head was not targeted

    3) Kronwall (and the team) was severely punished in the game - he was thrown out - Cooke went unpenalized

I wasn't referring to the legality of the hit, I was responding to the poster's comment about the 'respect' factor. In that way, it doesn't matter HOW he hit him or the conse

That said, you're omitting the ways it IS the same:

    1. Havlat has his head is on the puck, not the play

    2. Havlat is extended

    3. Everyone knows Kronwall blows people up at the blue line all the time.

Punishment aside, its a part of the game and will not change. It will still happen, but the consequence will just be different.
