although i know this already, its still needs to be said again. Jimmy is playing great and well beyond his years.

And my blood pressure has been cut in half.....AWESOME GAME. Dats is sick. Hank is a dishmaster. Jimmy came up big when needed. Nick absurdly solid again...what a ridiculous 2nd goal he had too...top blocker, talk about picking the corner. Tuz finally gets one...a la Fil. Good to see Babs letting the 3rd/4th line guys get some PP time and double shifting them at the end of the game. GO WINGS!!! On to San Jose....late starts again, awesome.

Don't care WHO. Don't care HOW. Just hit, pressure, and win. Bring on San Jose. 4-2 wings Helm, Rafi, Bert, Franz Jimmy-28 stops

Jimmy made the save(s) of the game and of our series. If Phoenix scores, the game probably goes downhill from there resulting possibly in a loss. Needless to say, Jimmy saves our ass again.....hopefully the NHL recognizes it and gives him the Calder. God Bless the United States of Jimmy.

CURLY FRIES FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!! Abby channeling his inner Dats...love it!!!

Thank God!!! Perhaps this is the last time Abby sits, maybe from now on JWill sits in the suite and while Abby earns his keep. LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR!!!! Abdelkader has 152 hits in 50 games, ranking third behind Brad Stuart's 206 in 82 games and Darren Helm's 188 in 75 games. Imagine if he played all 82, was on pace for 245 hits. We need grit, the kind of old school hockey that makes players fear the big hit. Line on Abby's hits in Game 2......... over/under 6 Im taking the over.

Dear LGW community, On behalf of myself, the Red Wings Organization and all annoyed fans of this great city of Detroit, let me assure you, I hear your pleas and echoes for the much needed change in roster. JWill has been a good player for the Wings and I hope that he has continued success for himself in the NHL, just not on the Wings. With that being said, F*CK JWILL!!! It's my turn to shine. I pledge to throw my body around with such reckless adandonment that I'll give Bettman and the rest of the Western Conference a coronary. I solemnly swear to uphold the tradition of Ole Time Hockey, like that of the great Mickey Redmond days and sacrifice myself for the greater good of the team. A wise man once told me, "Ya know JWill is only on the team cuz he's right handed." JWill's time is up. He sucks...at life. I mean how bad do you have to suck, if you suck at life? I know what you're thinking...alot. JWill only takes ill-advised shots on the Power Play, plays lazy defense, and for some reason got released from the Wings, only to be brought back. Get cut once, shame on JWill...Get brought back, shame on Kenny. And as for an added bonus, I won't allow Doan or any other goon for that matter, to facewash, punch, shove or slash any Wing after the play has been whistled dead. I'd throw down but that ***** of a Commish would probably suspend me, so I'll just deck every motherf*cker who crosses me. Here's to a better Game 2, because I'll be in it. Awaiting my call-up patiently, Justin Abdelkader go green, go wings.

Great nickname there.....Jimmy Howgood is just that good. Here's to the playoffs that we all hoped for and knew would come true. Jimmy=Calder

When I first Abby in the title I knew immediately what it was involving. It pains me to say, but as must as I am anticipating Abby getting in the lineup, I just dont see it happening with the way Miller and Eaves are playing. The only person I can see is if Drapes is out or if someone else gets hurt. Abby=13th forward until something changes. GO WINGS and GO STATE!

OMG..it took an imdb search and a youtube search to confirm it, but dammit you're right, Well played Sir, well played.

hahahahahahaha...lol..that is hilarious. And it goes perfectly with the convo between GunarStahl, Datsyukiandeke13 and myself. look on page 2-3 for the discussion --It's not worth winning if you can't win big!

Jimmy you are the man. Love the Crosby face wash, glad to see him calling out Crosby too..."He does it all the time and some how he gets away with it." --Off Topic: Julie the Cat has a strong glove, regardless if she was put in cold, very poor call. It's not like it was Fulton Reed or a Knuckle Puck. Pretty sure once you stop your forward momentum it stops the shoot-out. Also how is it that no one; no fan, no player, no ref saw the puck get stopped. He stopped for god sake, took a slap shot, the net didn't move, and there was no light on. --also how bad is Golbergs glove that he cant stop a slap shot from the top of the circles?

Growing up as a kid playing street hockey, everyone would pick a "player" to be. Other kids did this right? Yzerman, Fedorov etc. would always be picked by other kids...and we all know you cant be the same guy so I always picked Pavel Bure or Teemu Selanne to be different. And when i played goalied I would be Ron Hextall--classic. Glad to see one of my favorite non-Wing players to be in such an elite group. Congrats to Teemu and hopefully he stays around for a few more years. Love to see him play.

Penguins bashing thread(keep it within the site rules please)

Thank you for saying what we are all feeling. NBC, the NHL and Bettman blows Pit so much its ridiculous. I hope Kron lays out Sid soooooooooooooooooo bad. I would add Malkin to the "hit list" but he looks like he already had some head injury as a child, so I'll let it slide. and becuase once is never enough....GO WINGS BABY!!!!!!!!! -
llol.....great analogy. You gotta be like Costanza and go out on top. You peaked to early...no pun intended.

for the simple fact of saying the name "Zuccarello Aasen" over and over, its almost worth it. If he's as good as they say, then sweet. Welcome Aboard; just be prepared for him to put in his time in the AHL or at least not to expect a Top-6 spot or >$750,000 contract. If he can realize he's apart of a bigger picture with potential to be a star, I'm game.

E as a forward is interesting. Maybe he will have more energy or at least the appearance of more energy out there. He looks like he's tired, disinterested, and overall just out of place in just about the last 10 games he's played in. Now I realize that he has made good plays and that he has looked bad in more that just the last 10 games, but I'm being conservative. IF Ericsson can throw around that massive piece of matter he calls his body, then he has a chance. I mentioned it earlier in another post, if perhaps since E's demise his time was/is limited. If so, maybe a trade is in order to maximize/minimize our gains/losses. Its already being discussed some of the worst drafts/trades/acquisitions that seemed good and failed, and I don't want to miss out on an opportunity if we need to cut bait and bail. I hope E does well as a Forward, and if not then he better get his s*** together on D, otherwise his days are numbered.

^ Agreed. There is no way Mule would have scored 50. Does he have the ability, Yes. But with our philosophy of rolling 4 lines it makes us more dangerous so that we dont have to rely on one player scoring 50. Depth will take us further in the playoffs than 1 superstar. Besides if that 1 superstar cools off, then you're screwed. At least this way you've got 9+ other guys who have potential to score.

"Bingo! Red Wings win it 3-2 in overtime." Love that call by Mickey. Good win, thank god for no shoot-out. Is it me or did Miller's dad seem pissed that Ryan lost and Drew won? I think we all know who his favorite son is.

Lebda has been better than E for a while now. And while it would be nice to put in E with his size and potential, let's be honest, Lebda is a better choice. E will be good, probably a top 4 d-man, but not with so few games left, and with so much on the line. Stick with what works...a la Howard. E is getting close to the point that if he doesn't develop like the organization wants him/expects him to do, dare I say shop him around the league. If we do have to cut bait, at least do it while he has untapped "potential." Overall, Lebda's speed and offensive prowess far outweighs E and his befuddled, almost lethargic appearance at times. Don't get me wrong, I'm for E and would love to see him stay and become great with a winged wheel on his chest. The only question I have is: When is enough, enough? That answer ultimately lies within the organization, and that is where my trust remains.

Granted Osgood isn't completely useless, but based on his play this year, he has been sub-par. He always says that he steps up his game come time for the playoffs, except that this year is different. We are on the bubble for a playoff spot, not the division or conference as we've become accustomed to. If the season was different (i.e.-more points, wins, etc) than im fine with Osgood but we dont have that luxury anymore. The Wings have crashed down to reality and the reality that what once was good enough to win a few years ago, isnt even good enough to currently make the playoffs. I have confidence in Jimmy but we need a reliable backup if he falters. How many "Holy s*** Osgood is playing out of his mind" playoff/seasons does he have left? Honestly? I agree Ozzie will retire a Red Wing, but i just hope that the "rust" Ozzie needs to shake off come the end of the season/start of the postseason happens in 1-2 games. Otherwise the whole city and LGW community will be all over him. Hardest position in Detroit Sports: Wings goalie, Lions QB Easiest position in Detroit Sports: Wings back-up goalie, Lions back-up QB
