Swedish television had an interview with Yzerman during the intermission. Interviewer: "To the people in Sweden you are Detroit...so about the move to Tampa.." Yzerman: "Nick Lidström is Detroit." The interview carries on in standard format, until the interviewer thanks him for his replies, to which he answers "I could have done the interview in Swedish". Paraphrased of course, since I've had a few beers. He seems to have a smile on his face every time I see him being interviewed on Swedish television. It's happenend quite a few times, and he always gives you the impression that he's extremely relaxed and and very witty, but still serious. It makes you understand how he could rally a team.

Howard, Stuart, Eaves possible Tuesday against the Oil

I agree wholeheartedly. -
Järnkrok with the tip. Beautiful!

No doubt. I try to watch as many Boston games as I can and he's on the verge of being completely unbearable.

Mindfly is not exaggerating the article. At all. If anything his translation toned it down somewhat. He translated "sopade mattan med honom" as "heavily outplayed". What it really means is"I wiped the floors with him". And yes, Mindfly is 100% correct when he says that Swedish players tend to let go of their extreme media-training when talking to Swedish journalists. This has always been true. Forsberg, for example seems like he is very careful with his words when he's being interviewed by North American media, to us Swedes. I know he seems quite outspoken to you, but that's compared to the rest of the well-behaved players. In Swedish media? You'd be shocked. Same goes for people like Sundin and a lot of the other Swedish players. Even Franzén. Douglas Murray would probably make you laugh in amazement. You'd be suprised if you ever heard what Lidström has to say to Swedish media. He's no loud-mouth to be sure, he's quite reserved, even for a Swede, but he'll lay the truth down.

Well done.

Campbell calls (likely Savard) "Fake Artist" in email

I thought I'd ressurect this thread because www.downgoesbrown.com did a nice piece on it. Seems accurate to me. -
Agreed. I watch a lot of Boston games and he is the worst. He always goes with the same words and expressions too. Chara never, ever just takes a shot. It's always a bomb. "Chara with the baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhmb!" Noone ever just takes a hit. Its always a hammering or a plastering. "...and Lucic HAMMMMMERS him!" The man is way too excited, almost all of the time. The sad part is, when you start to notice and get annoyed, there's no turning back. You just know that you're going to absolutely detest him within a few games, and find new faults every time he opens his mouth.

It sure looked like it to me, but I'm not really 100%. That's the only video I could find of it.

Datsyuk stood up for Zetterberg, who was the intended target. Let's be honest here, it's not really like they went after Zetterberg completely unprovoked. It's not nearly as one-sided as we make it out to be. Watch what Zetterberg does at 0.11. Had that been a Ducks player we would all have been all over it. We'd probably call it a blindside hit. Maybe an elbow. A long way away from the play.
-
I'm drawing a blank here. Wasn't Cammalleri the guy that Zetterberg'd Crosby in the last play-offs? If so, that's really a shame because I really liked what I saw of him back then. I never knew he was an ******* of biblical proportions, which this episode clearly suggest. Is this common for him?

Same problem there, thanks for the effort though. -

This "We've reached the maximum number of streams for your country" is killing me. I'm watching the game in 30 second snippets before having to reload the page. Any other streams would be greatly appreciated. -
That man is a bonafide hero. May he live long and be forever happy.

If you go with that name, never let her think that movie was an inspiration.

Lilja is Swedish for Lily so that would work. As a matter of fact it sounds like a beautiful girl's name in Swedish. Makes me wonder why I never heard of anyone with Lilja as a first name.

I realize I'm only dreaming, but what if Maltby could teach somebody like Abdelkader how to get under other players' skins. Maltby might still do good.

I always (haha) thought of Boston as a Red Wings East. I like um. Maybe Philly is a better comparison. I know people on here call them a goon squad but after watching most of their games last season I strongly disagree. Don't ask me why somebody's that has been watching hockey seriously for two years, choose to follow Detroit, Boston, Philly and sometimes the Sharks, because I have little to no clue. Might be becuase, no matter what you hardcore fans feel in your hearts about Pronger etc, they play really good hockey. And, I might just state this right away, I like Pronger a lot. I understand why that is though, I never saw him steamroll Holmström or others when it actually happened. I like Laperriere too. And Avery. What the f*** is wrong with me?
-
Granted, Yzerman is from way before I became a Wings fan, but I've learned enough to cheer for Yzerman. Looks like I need to add another team to the ones I regularly watch. Where will it end? I must have seen 150 games last year and I've only been a fan for two years. Maybe a bandwagon-fan, but a friend convinced me to watch the 08-09 playoffs because I had a better internet connection and television than him. I knew little about The Wings until then, even though I'm Swedish. If you ever needed to try and convince somebody that they needed to, not only watch the NHL, but a specific team in particular, could you choose a better time than The Red Wings and the playoffs 08-09? Well, yeah, with Detroit you probably could chose from quite a few times. Rant over.

This is obviously NOT what is wrong with the world, because there are things that actually matter that make this world f***ed up, but it's s***ty. Minor, but s***ty nonetheless. The parents are obviously as dumb as they come, but this is non-news. What's wrong with the world? Genocide, starvation, pedophilia, rampant profiteering, crime, incest, the legacy of colonialism, global warming, aids, warmongering, cancer etc. Or s***ty hockeyparents? I'm kind of on the fence with this one.

If you don't mind staying away from any hockey news and watching the games the day after, there's at least two very good hockey torrent sites. That's the way I watch the games.
-
Torrents the day after, and avoiding relevant sources of information until after I've seen the game, or games. It's really the only alternative.
-
In recent years I've been re-educated in this matter and now know the truth. It's definitely spelled grammer. Oh, I'm sorry, it's definately.

That's actually very good.
