If I had to pick a specific time, I'd pick the playoffs. The beginning of the season is always fun, but there's nothing like the playoffs. On one hand, I'm not sure how I consider them "fun," since I scream at my TV while the game is on and spend off-days worrying about the next game, so the only time I actually have a genuinely positive feeling is right after we've won a game. At the same time, though, I live for that rollercoaster ride, and I can't get enough. Hehe, sound like a drug addict much? I, Jessica, am a hockey junkie, and rehab is for Coyotes fans!!

I don't know...taking a guy's mouthguard out of his mouth seems a little different than grabbing a guy's throat like you're going to choke him, but I guess it's hockey, and no real harm was done. Still seems like it should've been roughing...that's a lot more threatening in my book that punching a guy on the arm.

Yeah, the Helm hit on Jovanovski looked clean as a whistle to me, but I'm willing to give the refs the benefit of the doubt there since Jov and Tippett were so teed off about something. What I'm NOT willing to let go is that nobody called anything on Jov grabbing Helm's frigging throat. That's un-mofoing-acceptable, and out of all the stupid sh** that happened in the game, that's what's going to stick with me because I still can't believe it. I don't care if Helm cross-checked, slashed, boarded, and then sat on him, that's just not what you do, and I can't believe the refs let that go.

I completely agree. We have an ever better idea of what we have to do, while they get to go home knowing that even when they do their best, they still lose. I like it. I mean, I did kinda like the part where we were up 4-0 too, but the psychological angle we've got here does give me a boost.

Yes, it's up to the police to enforce it, but if they've had a request from the NHL specifically to enforce it, then of course they're going to agree to do it. I think the first thing to do would be to voice our displeasure to the NHL, and then they and the City of Detroit can come to an agreement. I like the idea of everybody throwing stuffed (plush, not with breadcrumbs and aioli) octopi onto the ice en masse. There's no way the NHL doesn't see that, whereas an underground Internet campaign doesn't get the same kind of exposure. Plus, they can't whine about player/ref safety that way...it'd just make them look even more stupid.

Just wait, man, seriously. If you're the one without the passport, you're the one who's going to get in trouble. I don't think the border patrol agent is going to care who told you what - it's all on you to have the proper identification. It doesn't really matter if he's willing to take the brunt of it; just because he's willing to talk to the BP doesn't mean they want to talk to him. They're gonna want to hear from the guy who doesn't have his passport, not the guy who just drives the bus. Sorry to be blunt, but I just don't want you to waste $70 on a bus ride to nowhere, and then have to pay another $70+ again on top of that when you do get your passport and want to come down. Edit: Sorry, I'm a little late here - good choice. Round 2 will be more fun anyway. Also, hockey23 is right - if you have an enhanced driver's license, you don't need a passport (found it here: http://www.getyouhome.gov/html/lang_can/index.html it's legit; I was re-directed there from Homeland Security's site). Like he/she said, though, I have no idea how long it takes to get one.

Nice!! I like the silver bead. I gotta get some better spacers...I just used a couple left over from one of my mom's beading projects, and they're nothing special. Completely forgot about those when I went to get the red and white ones, oops. I like how yours is big - it adds some interest while we're waiting for a few more game beads. Yeah, I tied mine in a knot, too. The cord is leather, so it's not too slippery, and it stays tied just fine. If you get beads with big enough holes, you might be able to find a clasp that they'll fit over, but mine have pretty small holes, so it's a knot for me.

Ah, yeah, I can see where they would be a little impractical if you're working with your hands a lot. The necklaces are kind of fun in their own way, though, since they build up anticipation...you can't really do any preparation to put a bead on, so by the time you get to, you're just itching to put it on there (well, unless it's a white one, of course). Can't wait to see everybody's pics (which sounds slightly weird after the conversation between a couple of people above this, but I really just mean the jewelry).

Sorry to all the guys - I couldn't handle taking a pic of myself with my phone with clothes on or off, so all you get is the necklace itself today. That is a redonculously bad picture, and I even set it to the highest resolution. Bummer. On Saturday I'll have to break out the actual camera. Yeah, I'm finding the necklace idea a lot more convenient...I could do bracelets (I mean, I wore my Howard t-shirt to work yesterday...we're a tad on the casual side), but this is a lot less time consuming and in my case, probably a lot prettier (not so good at braiding small things).

Oh good, I've been looking for this - thanks for starting the thread! I'm going to do a necklace...went and got all my beads and everything on Tuesday, and I strung on a red bead last night after the game, woohoo!! I'll post a pic later today if I can figure out the teknoluhjee on my cell phone.

My god I'm nervous about tomorrow. I mean, I have total confidence in them, but that doesn't really play into it...I'm just a plain old wreck this time every year, no matter the circumstances. I won't be able to watch it live tomorrow, and I don't want to ruin it for myself by checking the score on the Net, but I just know I'm going to be about ready to pop a gut before I get a chance to finally watch it. Well, before I go back to running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I'll just say: GO WINGS GO!!!

Dats has been having a fantastic year so far, and he's had a little more time to rest up recently than most of the guys, so I really think he's going to be hot to trot (or...something). If he just keeps going like he has been, it's definitely going to be a great playoffs for him.
