All righty! Put me down for: - $10 for a series win - $2 for every shutout (I mean if we shut them out, of course, heh) - $1 for every multi-goal game Zetterberg has (I'm with Vladifan - he's gonna be back and on fiya!)

Definitely cheering for the Kings (as much as I can cheer for anybody besides the Wings), but this would've been a much more fun series with Kopitar (and Williams). I hate to say it, but I think it'll end up being the Sharks in 5. I hope the Kings can drag it out a little longer, and they did an admirable job just getting to this point without Kops, but I just don't see them winning it.

I love Oz, but I don't know...it might be time. I feel guilty for saying that after everything he's done for us, and I respect the management for their loyalty to the players in situations like this, but...there are just so many other options out there. Of course, on the other hand, look how much better Tim Thomas did after he got patched up and back into form...maybe once Ozzie gets a chance to recover completely from the surgery, he'll actually be a lot springier (lol) than before.

WTF, I got second place this week?!?! Sweet!!! That's like a miracle for me! Overall, I'm pretty happy with what I got, considering I missed a ton of weekends. When I decided to pick back up, I had 10 or 11 points, and now I have 116, so yay! Congrats, hooon! That is a sweet belt! Thanks to everybody who put this together - this was my first year, and I had a lot of fun! I'll definitely be back for the playoffs and next season!

Heck, other than our series (which doesn't really count because I'll watch whether it's exciting or not), Pens-Lightning, and Bruins-Habs, this is the series I'm most looking forward to. Ducks get a little of their own medicine? Yes, please! Weber vs. Getzlaf? Sure! Works for me... The Preds can grind it out, but if Anaheim's goalies show up, I'm going to give it to them. No idea how many games it'll take.

Wings win!!! It'd be small consolation if I bet against the Wings and won...wouldn't get much enjoyment out of being right in that situation. This way, if I win, I get double the joy!

Oooo. Kayyy. PLEASE let's win; I am so frigging frustrated by the arrogance and dipsh*ttery of the Hawks' announcers that I just want a win to shove in their faces. Hey, maybe that's a strategy Babs could use - make the Wings listen to the Chicago feed of last night's game. Please, Wings, end their season, make their announcers eat a big slice of humble pie, send all the fans home crying - JUST WIN!!

Awesome, this is going to be even more fun this year. My prediction is Boston in 5, but I'm with kylee - I'd love to see them drag this out to 7 games just for entertainment purposes.
-
Me too! Got 8/11 today; not bad for me. Thanks a lot, Caps...I knew they'd had trouble with Florida in the past, but I still picked them because I thought, surely they'll pick it up this time; they are 1st in the East now, after all. Wrooonnnggg!! Oh well, can't complain - this has been one of my better weekends so far.

Who would you rather face in the 1st Round?
MulesWillFly93 replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Oh gosh, I don't know...Phoenix, I guess. We have recent experience with them in the playoffs, so I guess that could help. On the downside, they also have that knowledge and experience, but we did end up beating them, so I guess that gives us the upper hand. Plus, the Preds seem to have had our number all year long, playoffs or no, so I relish the thought of going 4-7 games against them a little less than Phoenix. God I feel nervous about this, though - I don't care what team we play. Whoever wins the WCF this year is going to deserve it. -

I'm just going to come out and say that I think they're going to lose because the Hawks will be fighting hard to keep their playoffs spot, but I am hoping like heck that we embarrass the crap out of them and give them an extended spring break. If we don't win these two, I'm not going to stress as long as they show more focus in the playoffs, so it's not a big deal at all in the long run, but I do enjoy the smell of burning bird on a Friday evening, nonetheless.

Michigan-Minnesota Duluth in the Championship!
MulesWillFly93 replied to weGotTheCup89's topic in General
You're. Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Well, I'm glad Michigan won (I don't watch college hockey that often, but when I do, I root for them), but I feel a little bad because my boss and her family are huge North Dakota fans, so I know they'll be pretty bummed out tonight. Man, all the ND fans in the stands looked like they'd lost the Stanley Cup Finals and the Olympics combined. As for the finals, I won't have any qualms at all if they beat Minnesota! Go Blue! -
I'm gonna get on board with Mursak and Tatar for sure, and then even though I personally would like to give Smith a shot, I think Janik's actually going to end up getting the call.
-
I voted for Datsyuk. He just takes us to a whole other level. Was tempted to vote for Zetterberg...definitely a close, close second. No way could I disagree with everybody who said he carried us when Dats wasn't there. Helm should at least be on the poll - he's been great.

If there was one F/D/G you could add to the team, who would it be?
MulesWillFly93 replied to a topic in General
Forward - Nash would be my first choice. My other thought that's been floating around my head for a while is Dustin Brown. Now, I know some Kings fans aren't enthralled with him because he hasn't turned out to be a 40 goal scorer or the biggest star on the team, but I like how hard he plays. I think we could use that kind of guts and physicality on the team. I wouldn't take him over Nash, of course, but I've been thinking about it for a while and wanted to get it out of my system. Whaddya think - am I nuts? Defense - Webaaaarrrrrrrr!!! Goalie - Lundqvist. Sure wouldn't say no to Miller, though. -
4/2 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Predators 3 (OT)

Pleeeaaase let's beat the Preds. I'll still feel bad about That Game even if we win this one (it takes me a while to recover from shock), but it'll at least be a bit of an extra boost to beat them. -
I agree. I believe in them - if I didn't, I wouldn't have come 2,000 mi to see them play last week - but I don't know if they believe in themselves right now. I just want them to do the best they can.

You're lucky I figured out it was a joke before I went and jumped off a cliff! April Fool's Day did not need to come right now. As if Wednesday wasn't enough of a joke.

My favorite non-Wing period is probably Ovechkin, but the one guy out of everybody I would really, really want on the team right now is Shea Weber. If we're just looking at great D-men, then Doughty's right up there, too, but Weber's toughness makes him perfect. Can't stand the guy as it is, but I'd love to have him on the Wings. Edit: Ah, f*** it, now I'm in a good mood, so I'll just go ahead and all list my favorites. Not all of them would fit on the Wings, but that's what I used the other thread for. Forwards - Alex Ovechkin, Steven Stamkos (big duh on those two), Dustin Brown, Anze Kopitar, Mike Knuble, Nicklas Backstrom, Martin St. Louis, Milan Lucic, Claude Giroux, Patrick Marleau, Jonathan Toews Defensemen - Shea Weber, Drew Doughty, Zdeno Chara, Adam McQuaid, Lubomir Visnovsky Goalies - TIM THOMAS!!! (I'm a fangirl, what can I say?), Jonathan Quick, Carey Price (and of course Lundqvist and Miller, but I'm trying to keep it to a minimum here)

Rad! I'd love to see that happen. I think it goes without saying that she should get the same chance as everybody else but shouldn't get any special treatment. I really hope she makes it. I always wonder what it would be like to play with somebody like Lidstrom or Datsyuk, but then I realize that until now, 100% of women have never had that chance. It'd be great to live vicariously through her.
-
Bylsma must have given Bettman the, ah, "special treatment" last night...what the heck was up with all the calls against the Lightning today?!?! Sometimes you can at least figure out why the ref imagined he saw something, but Downie and the slash? Where could they possibly even try to insert an imaginary slash in there?! Whatever. I know, I should just give up...it's no use.

I thought Jimmy has been looking better recently - yeah, he still has games like the Pens one, but it doesn't seem like they're as frequent as they were when we were having to score 4+ goals just to win there for a while. Also, I think the guy does better under pressure, weirdly enough, and with the playoffs coming up, I was really thinking he was starting to get it going. So I have faith in Howie, but I also have faith in Joey, too. He's looked pretty darn solid lately, and I hope that continues. I mean, we haven't really had enough time to see if he's consistent or if this has been a lucky streak, but from the little we have, he really does look like he's on top of things, so that makes me feel good. Hurry back, though, Howie...I like having at least a small safety net of knowing my two goalies both have experience playing with the team this year.

I blamde the Degree commercial! Less of that, more Filet-o-Fish.
