I don't know, I think I'll remember last night for as long as I live. I mean, you're right that it'll all be for naught if we lose the next one, but that was the kind of thing that makes me love Red Wings hockey. Even when they're down, they still keep kicking and let everybody know that they're still alive and dangerous like they always are, even in a year like this one. And since I haven't been on the Internet since the game ended, I'd just like to take a moment to freak out here: HELL YEAH FRANZEN!!!! AAAAHHHH!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! Well, yes I can, but HOLY MOLY!!! CURLY FRIES PLUS, Y'ALL!!! (edit: oops, too slow, didn't see this post yet) Agreed - as much as I think the players need to take it one game at a time, I myself can think about the fact that Game 4 isn't going to do us any good (other than lessen our hurt pride) if we don't win 5, 6, and 7.

Glad to see him back last night! I was watching the FS-D feed, but I recorded the VS one too, just in case something screwy happened, and I'm glad I did since he was back again. I wish they'd have him on there permanently...Engblom always gets off on one of his "this is serious business" type of rants, and it's nice to have McCarty there to lighten the mood a little. Thank God they don't have him (Engblom, I mean) and Milbury on the same show...

Stick with Jimmy. We're basically at the end of the series, so we might as well stick with him all the way through. Plus, I think he has a much better chance of rebounding and pulling one out of the hat than trying to put Osgood in there stone cold and seeing what we come up with. If Ozzie had actually played a few games this year, maybe I'd have a different opinion, but things being as they are, it's unfair to both Howard and Osgood to switch it up now.

We're done. I'm sorry, I've had it with being positive. Sure, it could happen - anything's possible - but it ain't gonna. Maybe I'll start hoping against hope by Thursday (or Friday...whenever the next game is), but right now, nuh-uh.

You know what really bums me out? I think the Sharks have only beaten us once - in Game 1. The refs and Jobu beat us in Game 2, and we beat ourselves in Game 3. I really don't think the Sharks have been putting THAT much more effort into it, and it bums me out that they're going to win this series (yeah, you heard me) because I don't think they really deserve it so much more than we do. I mean, they deserve it in a general way, in that they've played well all year and should definitely be here, but I don't think they're showing themselves to be the clearly superior team in this series. Not that the Wings dominated against the Coyotes, but for the most part both teams really slugged it out. Somehow, I would have been more satisfied if the Coyotes had beaten us over the Sharks, but I would have been a lot madder because I dislike a lot more of the Yotes players. Anyway, it rankles me that the Sharks are going to take this one without having to duke it out.

I agree - Howard effed up some in the first part, but everybody effed up in OT. I liked that they played Howard a lot during the regular season and let him get a lot of experience, but I'm not sure it was the right call to only let Ozzie play that one game against the Flyers in 2010 (wait, that was it, right?). I do like how they've stuck with Howard through thick and thin and have been really supportive of him, but it would've been nice to have Ozzie in shape, if for no other reason than to bring peace of mind to Howard and the guys by letting them know that at least they HAVE a back-up goalie.

LMAO, I might just join in tomorrow, if that's what it takes... Wait, ok, do you have to turn really slowly, so it takes just the 3 turns to sing all the lyrics, or do you just do it at normal speed (whatever the standard speed for turning in circles is) and just sing part of the lyrics? Hmm, on second thought, maybe I'll sit this one out - I don't want to do it wrong and jinx the Wings myself!

You know, I was going to come in here and talk trash about the guy, but after reading this thread, he's actually pretty hilarious. He makes my blood boil while he's announcing, but I come in here and read back over his spectubular commentatorating all at once, I lol. (edit: plus, I can't talk either, so who am I to judge? hurrr...)

I agree. We've just had EPIC bad luck and bad reffing. I'm still not half as scared of the Sharks as I was of the Coyotes (yeah, I'll admit it), so despite everything, I'm still feeling positive. Hopping mad, but positive. The Sharks let us do stuff that the Yotes wouldn't have...it might just be me, but it seems like we can get through into their zone more easily than we could with the Yotes. And like you said, Nabokov isn't any Bryzgalov, and we already beat Breezy, so there you go. Plus, the "oh crap-o-meter" just went to at least 10, maybe 11, and the Wings usually come back and do all kinds of better in the next game when that happens, so I'm not panicking yet. Well, unless the calls keep going like they have been...but that won't make me panic; it'll just put me in the nuthouse.

Ok, I think there were some penalties we could've avoided there, but HOLE-EE MOTHER OF I DON'T KNOW WHAT!!! I thought the LAST game had some bad calls - boy, did we ever tune in for the sequel! Somebody get me a tinfoil hat, pronto: I believe.

Well, on the optimistic side, maybe Williams is so pissed at himself that he'll come back ready to kill. Then again, it's Williams. Hope Eaves comes back soon...I like that guy.

Oh man! Well, that explains all the bad juju Thursday night... Seriously, I'm not freaking out about the 1st game loss. And I usually freak out badly. That was just one of those the-world-was-against-us flukes, and this next game has comeback written all over it. The Sharks look beatable.

I friggin' love Shanny. The logical part of me says there have been so many great players for the Wings in the past, and not all of them can be in the rafters, but the much bigger, not-so-reasonable part says screw it - string up the #14!! And even though I would darn well HOPE he'd wear a Wings jersey to the ceremony, I'm still glad to hear it, just the same. Bwahaha, that is pretty much the best thing ever...I watch it all the time. I love how Shanny pretty much sends it over the edge all by himself when he busts out the "tripod" line...awesome. Even D-Mac doesn't know what to say to that!

A little late here, but THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!! I can't remember now if the goal came before or after the slash to the face, but if it was after, well, hell yeah all the more! Hope this is the beginning of a streak. Maybe I shouldn't say that. I'm so superstitious, heh.

Pizza sounds good - there's a good, mom & pop delivery place near me that uses really good ingredients, so you don't get the usual plastic and cardboard combination. I think I'll do that! And possibly accompany it with an Yzerman Slapshot, hehe.

Yeah, same here. On the one hand, caffeine is like almost like speed to me; it only takes a little before I start to get the jitters and feel anxious. I don't even drink full-strength coffee anymore. When I don't have any caffeine for the whole day, though, I feel grouchy and have absolutely no energy. I have to drink like a very small amount so I wake up but don't feel jacked up.

Nighty night! I may have to call it a night here pretty soon...it's only 11 here, but I have to get up early tomorrow. Man is it going to be a long day...
