I think tatar, jurco, combined with a pick could land us top D. Theres alot of potential there. However, I think we can easily afford Filpulla. He hasnt done enough anywhere statistically for alot of teams to offer him a big money deal. Some may if they actually realize his talent, but I think he stays.

Yup, only in Gary Bettmans NHL is it a 10 minute misconduct for leaving your feet and checking the boards, then chirping a guy and trying to fight, and another 10 minute misconduct for Franzen chirping a guy to a fight after watching a team mate get crosschecked 5 or so times in the crease... Pathetic What happened to hockey?!?!?! What happened to "the code" of the game!!!!

Id let Franzen go in a heartbeat... for the right return. Flip on the other hand... I'd keep him. I dont want to give him up. He's good defensively, and offensively. Franzen at this point... is soft... lazy... and not much time left... let him go.

Unbelievable. our issues tonight were the other 5 guys on the ice tonight. at all times. Not Jimmy Howard. Open up the eyes. Amazing what it'll do for you.

Yeah... because an average goaltender is going to stop our defense from giving up 4 breakaway goals... give me... all of us.. a break... unreal.

After today, we better keep looking... long and hard. Our defense was terrible tonight. Especially Quincey. and he's a guy who's actually been playing hockey during the lockout.. against weaker talent as well. So, maybe he just needs some time to adjust again to NHL talent, but hel ooked awful. Just awful. The problem though... sure we're looking for a D-man... but we also have alot of old players up front, and weak younger players up front who arent good enough, to support trading some good looking prospects away, in order to get a D-man. its just going to be opening up one hole, to fill another temporarily.

Id like a copy of the new NHL CBA... I'd like to know when challenging a guy to a fight became a 10 minute game misconduct... or when taking a run at a guy, and missing him completely and hitting the boards became a 10 minute misconduct... anyone have a copy??? Im a bit confused...

So.. a scrumb in the net... franzen and cleary get roughed up... talk s*** afterwards for a fight... and franzen gets the penalty, even though cleary was crosschecked 3 or 4 times... but beacuse they challenged for a fight apparently, they go to the box??? Unbelievable.

Sure, he left his feet... but he didnt hit anyone... its only a penalty if he leaves his feet, and actually hits someone. Its ridiculous that they threw him out of the game for it. If he said something on ice afterwards that warranted him getting thrown out, then sure, but for the lame ass missed hit attempt, to get thrown out, is ridiculous. if he hit someone, and it was dirty, then im all for it, sure, but he only hit the damn boards... thats not a penalty... give me a break.
