I think the the Wings-Sharks series showcased the two best teams in hockey. It was a helluva series, and could have gone either way. It ultimately came down to special teams in Game 7. If the Wings had advanced, I really don't see Vancouver beating them. I also agree with a previous poster . . . the eventual SC Champion will come out of the West.

There were many (regulars) on this forum who jumped off that same bandwagon after the Wings were down 3-0. With regards to Clowe, he's definitely their best player. Not only does he sport the most points, but he has a knack of controlling the puck along the boards and is a physical presence. Without him in the game, this series goes to a Game 7.

No Ryane Clowe tonight. He didn't make the trip. No word on why (yet).

JR is essentially a "color guy". He is expressing his opinion. It created quite the stir, which is good drama! IMHO, he's right. Patty Marleau, the Sharks' leading goal-scorer during the regular season has been underwhelming, to put it mildly. Now using the word "gutless" on national television may not be the wisest choice of adjectives. We'll see if it fires-up Marleau . . . only time will tell.

Abby needs to realize that, if he sees the numbers of a player with his back near the boards, and the Wings have more than twice as many PPs, he shouldn't give the refs a chance to call that. Good PK.

The Wings should have 5 or 6 goals by now. Three, and now four power plays in a row (to none for San Jose). The game should be over by now.

IMHO, the Wings do not need Jagr. They need a studly stay-at-home defenseman or two. -

What the heck is up this year in the second round? All these teams down 3-0, and now the Capitals getting swept. Could happen with the Flyers and the Wings. The Wings already swept the 'Yotes. Tons of OTs. This was supposed to be the year of parity in the NHL, but you rarely see this many teams being swept out of the playoffs! Of course, the Flyers and Wings could take the next 4 games . . but come on. -

Well put. Went on prevent defense. Out-shot and out-chanced in the third. If that happens, the odds of giving up a goal increases. (I state the obvious). -

Karma. Setoguchi in the box for Bertuzzi's smart play of "grab the stick and fall". Wings fail to take advantage on the PP when there only scores were on the PP. Setoguchi with the hat trick to win in OT. Did any fourth liners play in OT? Wings looked tired! I noticed that Nichols and Ferriero had some shifts in OT for the Sharks. -

I concur . . . with two puck-possession teams, faceoffs were HUGE in this series. Winning those defensive zone draws late in the third period (while up by a goal) were pivotal for the Sharks. The Hawks have to get by Vancouver first. The Canucks made it interesting tonight! Perhaps they should act like they are playing an away game when they hit GM Place for Game 6 . .
