Considering the two largest broadcasting companies in Canada (Rogers and Bell) own the Maple Leafs, good luck housing another team and obtaining broadcast rights. Rogers will just buy everything and stop it from happening just like every other company up here now. CBC is already feeling pressure from them as it is.

The goal at 11 minutes of the video, was that Nyquist first NHL goal ? I can't wait and hope to see those two play on a line consistently next year. I think Datsyuk could really help Nyquist by playing with him.

Honestly, If I was Poile and had the finances availabe. I would match it then trade him for better assets than 4 very late first round picks.

Not enough depth at center for them to be split up imo. Flip probably won't be as effective as he was on wing.

Lids is not coming back.

We didn't match up well again Nashville, Datsyuk and Lids were injured and we lost one of our best players before the series even started (Helm). Without Rinne last year, Detroit beats Nashville and Minny doesn't have anyone close to Rinne.

What would be awesome is if Detroit met Minny in the first round of the playoffs and swept them.

I read Holland, Illitch and Babcock met with Parise at 3pm in Toronto today, the signings of Samuelson and TooToo didn't happen until after 3pm. I bet they knew they weren't getting Parise after the meeting, so now they are moving to plan B which is probably trade for Nash or Ryan.

Suter will be signed (Probably 12 years 90 million aav 7.5 million per), and they either trade for Nash/Ryan or sign Semin for 5 million/ 1 year. I don't understand why everyone is crying beause Parise isn't going to get signed. The only thing that will disappoint me is if they trade for Bouwmeester.

I live in Toronto too, the most bipolar and ungrateful fans I've ever come across are Toronto Maple Leaf fans. Gustavsson was better than the defense in Toronto. Reimer and Scrivens will be the ones to blame this year. Everyone in Toronto knows that Alaire is the worst goaltending coach in the league, he doesn't let you adapt to your style instead he wants you to play his way.

You can blame the fans and the media there for his confidence issues. Leafs have some of the worst fans in Hockey, they are loyal but they are the most bi-polar fans. Instead of blaming Phaneuff for pinching into plays he has no business to and causing 2 on 1 chances all over the ice they blame Gustavsson for letting in the goal and start booing him off the ice. Im hoping Leafs get stuck with Reimer and Scrivens as there goaltenders and just bomb the season. Anyways, good signing for Wings. He's a big goaltender (6'4 I believe) and is fast at moving laterally. Good backup.
