Boston was the better team, we weren't beating them with the team we had even with injured Zetterberg playing in the other 3 games, they are a bad matchup for us. I don't get what is so hard to understand. If both teams were 100% healthy, Boston was still the better team. I get being a homer/bias but come on, other teams are in fact better then the Wings. We don't win every playoff matchup. You cannot evaluate who was injured or not either, just because Alfie and Z missed games and the Bruins didn't doesn't mean they weren't injured.

They are still not 100% is what I'm saying. We don't know the raw data but let's not us use that as an excuse for why we lost to Boston. We got absolutely destroyed, and our small guys didn't play too good.

It's really not though. After 82 games of physical Hockey, you are not 100%. Hockey analysts are not going to predict a series win off of what happened in the season, you cannot honestly believe that. It's not an accurate measure of anything. They can bring up the fact that Detroit beat them in the season series but they don't have to assume Washington can't win because of that. Also the fact is Washington is better then Detroit, not sure why you are arguing that. They have better defense, offense and goaltending. Facts are in the stats and standings.

I agree. There are favourites but they don't always win, which is why I referenced the 05/06 Wings team. To say our chances are better against Washington because of regular season records is just not true. Washington is the team to beat in the East this year and it's not really close. I compared the 05/06 team and said I get that great teams don't always win. Doesn't defeat the fact that Washington is the better team and would probably smoke us. Not sure what your argument is. Tampa beat us in the regular season. Now what about Boston the year before? What was that record ? Regular season means nothing in the playoffs besides seeding. No way should we fear Montreal or Boston more. Washington is the complete package, have a Vezina goaltender, best goal scorer in the NHL, and one of the deepest top 9 lineups. Regular season records mean nothing in the playoffs. A few years ago we were 3-0-1 against Boston in the season. Met them in the playoffs and got smoked. Same thing with Tampa last year I'm pretty sure. Washington is by far the better team, I get that it doesn't mean anything (see 05/06 Wings) but to say they fear us is just not true. That was posted Dec 2nd. Voting started Dec 1st. January he Tweeted that he is going to the All Star game saying its something he will never experience and it will be fun. At first he even thought getting voted in was a joke then he started to feel like he belonged lol. He doesn't take in Millions because he sucks, that money is earned. Pretty simple. He shouldn't be playing in the NHL either. Ovi absolutely would have played in the previous lockout year, and would have scored a lot (30+). Take a look at his rookie season and he is a generational talent. You simply cannot compare how many goals Gretz had at age 30. Different era and Ovi is a pure goal scorer where Gretz was not. Ovi could play like Jagr until he's 43 or older, if he wants the record he will get it. He wants to be great. If he scores 30 goals for the next 10 years he passes Howe, and Ovi will definitely score more the 40 the next 3-4 years.
