Wings don't make the playoffs without that trade. Legwand and Mule went on a tear together and won us a bunch of games. To you that may not be important, unfortunately you don't run the team and it matters to them. -

Maybe in hindsight, but Cole would have been a difference maker for us in the playoffs. Also, let's not pretend Holland added players in just because there friends, that's just ridiculous. You value prospects too highly, they really aren't worth anything unless you have a top 10 pick or until they prove themselves. You said Wings were going to regret Jarnkrok yet I just looked at his stats and we aren't missing anything. -

At 20 years old Getzlaf was already in the NHL and scored 39 points in 57 games. Mantha is nowhere close to NHL ready at 20 years old. If Mantha becomes anywhere near Getzlaf I will be incredible happy, and the Wings would be very fortunate. At 22 years old Getzlaf was already a PPG+ in the NHL. -

The start for a player that Arizona has no incentive in moving. You will overpay to get OEL, he's a bonaified 22 year old #1 Dman that scored 20 goals last year on the lowest scoring team. That won't get it done, Wings have to add. JVR is a fantastic player and would be exactly what the Wings need to go to the net. Is this your proposal? Mantha, Weiss, Smith for Phanuef and JVR -

Why do they need to have a Stanley Cup roster? Many teams get hot at the right time and go to the finals; Devils just did it three years ago. How many teams in the past beat Detroit that didn't have a Stanley Cup roster? Plenty. That's just how the game works. -

So only Tampa can get better as the playoffs go along? Also, what makes you think Detroit didn't have any part in shutting down Tampa instead of Tampa just not playing well at the beginning of the playoffs? If I remember Detroit took out Anaheim and almost Chicago a couple years ago and we heard the same thing then. We have two elite two way players, maybe just maybe that had something to do with containing most of Tampa's offense. -
Yes And your also talking in absolutes. Ovi isn't going anywhere is pretty obvious. He sells tickets, is fantastic for the City and is a superstar.

Are you the new coach? Do you know Howard will be the backup? Will you not be playing Weiss properly this year either ? I reserve my opinions when I see what Blashill does before assuming we have "Dead Cap Space". -

Well for one we should be waiting to see what happens in Free Agency. We might get some right handed dmen and that will change the PP a lot. We also lost our PP coach to Toronto, so bringing up last years numbers doesn't translate to this year as the entire philosophy changes and Smith very well could be on the PP. -
