"@leahhextall: With Kessel gone now just one player on Toronto's roster makes more than Babcock!"
-
"@TSNBobMcKenzie: O'Reilly signs with BUF. Two year deal at $700K per. One way deal. That's CAL O'Reilly, Ryan's older brother. Guess we know who's next." Oh Bobby, so misleading
-
I was going to say 40 as well. 40-50 imo. he'll likely be top 5 in the league in goals.
-
Not seeing any other semin news from the tsn guys. Pitt made sense but before the kessel trade
-
Finally the full trade laid out in one convenient tweet "@TSNBobMcKenzie: Kessel, Tyler Biggs, Tim Erixon and 2nd in 2016 for Kapanen, Harrington, Spaling, 1st and 3rd picks in 2016. TOR retains $1.25M/year."
-
"@DarrenDreger: Todd Diamond says nothing imminent on Alex Semin."
-
"@DarrenDreger: Also told Toronto is eating between15-25% of Kessel contract."
-
I just didn't think the penguins could get any more unwatchable.... Edit: could be an even bigger trade @DarrenDreger: Kessel trade could be bigger hearing Spaling involved and Pitt also gets Torontos 2nd round pick."
-
That's a lot of venison.
-
Agreed. And I don't think they will for at least a little while.. Panthers I could see talking Weiss back for a couple seasons, he had a decent amount of success there. No matter where he ends up, Weiss is lucky he got bought out this off season instead of next.. obviously a lot of them will get re-signed by their teams before then but next year's free agency class should be much better than this year's scrap heap
-
Maybe if Babcock weren't the leafs coach.. I'm guessing Arizona
-
Nah, all one way means is that he gets paid the same at the AHL level as he would at the NHL level.
-
Good for Andy. I saw the griffins play a couple times last year and he looked pretty solid. I don't think he'll crack the line up next year (certainly not full time), but he could mentor the younger kids in GR. All in all, a well deserved raise.
-
I could see tarasenko signing an offer sheet.... That would immediately get matched by the blues
-
Pretty much what I expected, just wondering if he talks about it as much. I guess we'll see..
-
True. And that's fully expected. I guess maybe anisimov does things well other than get points.. I'm assuming he does anyway based on that contract. I've never really noticed much of him but I also haven't watched too many cbj games.. anyway, if anyone can bring out the most in him, it's probably Kane, hossa, & company.
-
Agreed. He is still somewhat young (27). I guess they're hoping he grows into it and then some & ends up being a bargain by the end..? Doesn't make too much sense for a cap strapped team though.
-
"@DarrenDreger: Anisimov extension with the Hawks. 5 yrs. $22.75 mil total."
-
Do we know yet to what extent Blashill shares Babcock's opinion on RH & LH defensemen? Has he been asked about this yet?
-
If we were to sign ehrhoff for the first pair, I'd rather keep the second pair Dekeyser and Quincey.. They played well together last season. Kronwall-Ehrhoff Dekeyser-Quincey Ericsson-Smith Not an amazing defensive lineup but not terrible. But, I don't think Ehrhoff will be signed by Kenny.. although if I remember correctly, didn't we have interest in him before he signed with Pittsburgh? If he could stay healthy, he'd be a decent addition on a short deal.
-
We couldn't have. Players had to be signed before the new cba was signed to be eligible for the compliance buyouts. And, krsmith, I thought they'd give him another season under a new coach to play well here too.. I'm guessing the new coach didn't want him as much as one of his kids from GR. Mayyybe we're planning on signing franson/green/whoever, but I think it's more blashill didn't have Weiss in his plans. I'm sure Kenny was trying to include him in a trade before buying him out but obviously no potential trade scenario panned out.. best of luck to Weiss, I wish he would've had a better time in Detroit.
-
They're a prescription drug and I'm assuming he wouldn't be in any trouble if he had a prescription for them.
-
Maybe Hamilton wouldn't buy into the diving culture so they got rid of him
-
Buying out Weiss has already made Holland's off season busier than I thought
-
If we were to sign green.. The kids would go to grand rapids because they don't have to pass through waivers and we'd rather them play in grand rapids than sit out in Detroit
