If they want to buy out Weiss they might as well wait until next year anyway.. maybe he bounces back but even if he doesn't, the cap hit from the buy out will be less in both term and dollars. We can afford keep him on the books this season and add a contract if we so choose.

Not saying that gets the deal done but with the amount of re-signing that will have to be done next season, I wouldn't want to go higher than five I don't think.

I wouldn't want to sign green for longer than three years. At six mill I think I'd be a little hesitant. I think I'd go 3 years, 5 mil per at most if I were Kenny.

Yeah, "it's not about the money" is a pretty big assumption these days

I also read somewhere that it's "not about the money" & where he signs depends more about the quality of team he could sign to and what role he would get on said team. He wants top minutes, more power play time, etc.. something the wings could obviously give him based on the state of the defense. I think all of that points to him being signed by the wings, assuming he means it when he says "it's not about the money" & signs at a decent value. I would love to sign green at say 3 years, 12 million. But I expect him to get more. He'll certainly get better offers from teams like the oilers.

Turning 19 to 30, 32, & 51 would be great. I imagine we'd lose at least some sort of mid range prospect in there somewhere. Also, I could definitely live with meloche or Carlsson. I just think that the timing of kylingtons injury may have helped the wings greatly in that he might fall to them when at the midway point he was ranked pretty high on most draft boards if I remember correctly.

My thoughts exactly. Although I do think he has the potential to be a 70-80 point guy while being solid two-way. I'd love for the wings to get him, he's exactly the type of center you want (assuming his production increases). His ridiculous contract demands aside anyway.. ha.

Yeah. Someone will give him at least 7 per year though of he hits ufa. I think he'll end up worth it eventually but it is a big gamble, no doubt.

I want kylington, roy, or trade back later in the first and pick up a second rounder. A trade while picking up one of those guys would be incredible.

Soderberg reportedly wants 5 mill per season. Either that report is way off or he's out of his mind, imo. I think he should get a bridge deal, maybe around 3-3.5 ish per season. Then again, limited free agent classes do strange things to player value.

Maybe have an offensive one (what the Norris has become basically) and an all around one (what the Norris is supposed to be)...? Although I do also agree with leaving it as one and putting more emphasis on defense.. ya kno, for a defenseman award

RE: Mike Green.. CSN Washington seems to think, The 29-year old Green is could get at least the same term and money as his previous deal three-years at $18.25 million. Would you do it? Personally, I'd love to have green on a two or three year deal. Would hope for closer to 5 mill per year but don't expect him to sign that low with the lack of competition in free agency..
