Heard emdog got five stitches and is being treated for a concussion. Press charges all you want, it's not going to amount to anything.. Hope he recovers quickly though. Viva la emdog!
-
Speaking of emdog.. the khl seems to be giving him a warm welcome.... http://faceoffcircle.ca/2015/02/15/cory-emmerton-gets-assaulted-khl-game-criminal-charges-may-follow/

Andy is a different type of role player than jurco.. and I agree jurco isn't getting a fair chance minute/role wise to maximize his potential.
-
He might be a scrub but he's OUR scrub, dammit!! yeah, I'd much rather see jurco in the lineup too. but I'll trust babs' judgement on who should be replaced....

The coyotes had 5 shots in the first, zero in the second, and were down 5-1 after two periods. Valamov could've let everything in and they still wouldn't have been winning

Also this according to McKenzie. Don't think I saw it posted yet.. Toronto will try to move Olli. Can't imagine they get too much for him though. "@TSNBobMcKenzie: TOR had to take Olli Jokinen's contract back to help even out $ for NSH. TOR will now try to move Jokinen so full return yet to be seen."

Someone posted a defensive salary cap comment on Twitter. Preds vs. Flyers.... Wow. "Weber Josi Jones Franson Ellis Ekholm Volchenkov -- $20,619,143 cap Streit Coburn MDZ Schenn Schultz MacDonald Grossmann -- $24,400,000 cap"

Yeah, I understand why jerseys get retired. But the debate is more if they deserve to be retired in the eyes of the fans. I know it ultimately means nothing but it's a fun discussion for fans to have and us red wings are fortunate to have so many players to potentially have that debate about.
-
While there are no set standards, technically speaking, there basically are.. Yes, we've been very fortunate as fans to have so many players that could potentially be held to such standards. And to a lot of people, federov doesn't live up to those standards and therefore they don't think he deserves his number in the rafters. He could potentially make up for his short comings and have his number retired but I don't see it happening. I'd be very happy if it did though.

Pulk has looked amazing all game long. Guarantee he's up next year.. Mantha and Athanasiou are definitely developing some great chemistry.. The kind of chemistry that we saw with tater, nyquist, sheahan, and jurco all coming up to the wings & tie game!!! Kind of hope I get to see some of new OT format..

At the game tonight. Cally is such a little spit fire so far.. Was wondering though, is the ahl schedule like the nhl schedule in that every team plays each other twice? Or even once? I couldn't find anything online Other notes: the power play looked great on the one we have. Pulk and Mantha have great hands haha. Pulk looks calm under pressure too. Good game so far imo

That'd be cool to see but I imagine Babcock not wanting it.. that said, this thread could be a good spot to post practice updates like lines, and notes from practice. From today: "@AnsarKhanMLive: Lines: Nyquist-Zetterberg-Abdelkader Helm-Datsyuk-Tatar Jurco-Sheahan-Glendening Miller-Andersson-Weiss Cleary rotating in" "@AnsarKhanMLive: Defense pairs: Kronwall-Ericsson Quincey-DeKeyser Smith-Marchenko Kindl" "@AnsarKhanMLive: Power play units: Nyquist-Zetterberg-Weiss, Abdelkader (net front), Kronwall Tatar-Datsyuk-Sheahan, Helm (net front), DeKeyser" I like how they set up their power plays a lot. And obviously it's working; their power play is first in the league right now at 25.9%.

Nice article, thanks for sharing. I for one would be happy to see 91 in the rafters but I don't know if it happens. The wings are all about loyalty and the way he left probably ruined his chances.... I could see 91 "unofficially retired" in Detroit though; not in the rafters but never worn again.
-
Apparently they're unsure what to do with our goalie situation so the wings will carry three goalies for now.... PHT: http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2015/02/13/mrazek-or-monster-wings-undecided-on-backup-goalie/

Judging by what he got, I have a hard time believing that.... but if true, he's out of his mind (which seems very possible). the bottom of that link says: which is a lot more believable, IMO. either way, I'm glad kenny didn't give up a prized prospect for myers' potential.... -
I agree. I could see Holland holding onto all picks/prospects rather than trade for someone like sekera. I'm not knocking the guy, he's not a bad player by any stretch but I'm not sure he has a future here.

Looks like franson does have a minor injury.... "@DarrenDreger: It's believed Cody Franson has a minor hip problem. It's not believed to be serious. Clarkson also expected to draw back vs Isles." Probly keeping him out as a precaution so they don't risk not being able to trade him due to injury imo -
Sabres and Stars swap goalies: Enroth for Lindback
amato replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
There's more to it than just the two goalies. Buf also gets at least a third round pick.... @TSNBobMcKenzie: "If Jonas Enroth wins 4 playoff games for DAL, BUF gets 2nd round pick instead of 3rd. That's the condition. But BUF guaranteed at least 3rd" -
Where did you hear this from?
-
Yes because I think he helps them make the playoffs. At the very least he gives them another solid forward to fill the hole Kane would have left either way. Hopefully they can find a way to re-sign him.

Heading to trade deadline, can someone help me understand
amato replied to Jersey Wing's topic in General
Kessel and Phaneuf I agree with.. & I don't really know what most of the other guys make but JVR makes 4.25ish per year and that is in no way overpayment IMO.. -
Not a chance. They had three first rounders. They had to have traded either the islanders' or blues' There it is. I'm guessing St. Louis'
