I agree it's not why people aren't signing here but I didn't see anything in that article "dis detroit" as a city..? I've heard that players don't like babs but that they also respect him as a coach... I don't think he's lost the locker room, but I could be wrong.There are different reasons players haven't been signing here and they all seem personal to the player, not pinnable to one thing about the red wings' organization. I'm not worried about it though.. the growth of the kids is enough to get me excited about each season and I'm pretty excited to see a healthy weiss.. he can be a difference maker on the ice. although I am of course hoping for that elusive right handed top 4 d-man....

has iginla been discussed yet? I just read an article about how despite his desire to stay in boston, the B's may not be able to keep him again because of cap problems partially due to penalties thanks to iginla's bonus from last season (ironic ha) anyway, what do you guys think of potentially adding him (assuming alfie retires and the B's can't sign him)? he'd give us a top 6 forward/right handed PP shot capable of scoring for a year, maybe more. scored 30 goals last season. I imagine he'd probably get at least that, if not more, on pav's wing. I'd be all for it, he'd be a nice bridge over to the younger guys we have projected to be top 6 forwards and we have a little cap space/wouldn't have to give up any assets

Booth-weiss-franzen is such a gamble line.. it'd either end up being great, or terrible. If we could get booth on a bargain, I'd be all for it though.. assuming alfie calls it a career.
