    Right, it would definitely depend on the cost. But if teams know they're having trouble signing him long term, Carolina likely isn't going to get as much for him as they should.

    I would love if we could get a pick/prospect from Toronto for taking Marleau and then retain half his cap hit in a trade to San Jose and get another pick/prospect out of that.

    I feel like Spencer knight isn't falling further than the Panthers at 13 unless they trade back. I know they're rumored to be getting Bobrovski but that's far from guaranteed and it seems like there's a decent chance Luongo retires.

    Provided we don't trade back, i think I've settled my wish list to: 1. Byram 2. Zegras 3. Turcotte 4. Caufield 5. Podkolzin 6. Cozens I keep going back and forth between the last three every time I think about it, so they're pretty interchangeable for me, but I'd be happy with any of these guys.

    I'd take Marleau plus a prospect. But he said he'll only play for Toronto or San Jose. So we'd be buying him out. It'd have to be REALLY worth it. Maybe if they gave us Liljegren or Sandin, plus a buyout of Marleau for a late pick.. But I don't see them giving up either of those guys with the state of their defense. I really don't think Vegas will get rid of Stastny. They'll likely trade someone like Smith first.

    Cholowski seemed a lot like best defenseman available iirc. But could very well have been the best player in our scouts eyes. A lot harder to predict who BPA might be at 20 than where we pick these days. I wouldn't even think twice. It probably wouldn't take close to that much to offload his contract.

    I'd be okay with 6th and 60th for 5th.. if it took any more than that, I agree with what KRS said. that is, if we're the ones calling LA about the pick. If LA is calling us about moving down a spot, I'd think it's because they want a center and have multiple options. in that case, I'd just wait it out.

    I feel that's too much quantity, not enough quality. Hughes is only one year removed from being drafted 7th overall and has done nothing to indicate that was too high yet. If he were to struggle this coming year in the NHL, and a trade like this were discussed next year, it would feel more likely. But Vancouver is probably still too high on him for a trade that is basically just compiling extra prospects who aren't as highly touted as him.

    Probly not. Seems more in the ballpark of what it would take though.. But yeah, I doubt they trade Hughes at all.
