I've said it plenty of times before and I'll say it again, watch out for lashoff.. He's gunna be good.
-
Tarasenko will get it if he keeps this pace up. Kids gunna be good
-
cheap shot on smith.. hope tootoo takes on him too
-
they're slowly getting better and it's also the season opener.. understandable.
-
they just said ericsson is out. good luck lashoff! also, lashoff to start with kronwall.... interesting. I'm sure the D lines will get changed a few times today.
-
I'd agree that Nill is more qualified right now, and could very well be the next GM of the detroit red wings; I'm not disputing that. Nill could be more qualified in four years as well, but I think yzerman will be qualified by then too.... I think he'll keep improving as a GM and at least be considered for the position when Kenny calls it quits, that's all I'm saying.
-
they weren't the best moves by a GM but carle and salo add defensive depth, something that can be hard to come by.. and yea, the contracts weren't the best but it's also in a market where just about every free agent is getting over paid. I also like the addition of Lindback, he's young and has potential. also, tampa is a team that has struggled to make the playoffs a lot in recent years despite having a group of all stars on the team. I'm not saying his time there so far has proved he's an elite GM, I'm just saying I think he has them going in the right direction and will prove himself in the next few seasons.

It's a lot easier to pick a team out of a huge group of Allstars. That in no way says how he'll be as a GM.. But doesn't Kenny still have 4ish years on his contract? I think in those 4 years, yzerman will prove he's qualified for the job. He's doing good things in Tampa so far.

Also, he'll improve. I'm not worried about him.. At least not yet.

In all fairness, Mursak and Emmerton were terrible on Saturday, and Smith wasn't that good either.

To say they played bad on Saturday is fine.. But that doesn't make them terrible players. Nearly every player on the wings played bad on Saturday.

I think the league has kind of plateaued on amount of teams. Some teams are struggling a little financially, teams are relocating, changing owners.. But if there were ever going to be talks of expanding, I'd bet the lockouts are a factor for not expanding.
-
I'll be pissed if the wings come out the way they did against the blues.. I'm not even upset that we lost or that we lost as badly. No one on the team looked like they gave a s*** at all.... With the exception of the goalies

awesome. really could have used him and helm on the PK last night. we still would have lost with how awful we played but at least them two would have given a s***
-
"No, because we already used it." (Yzerman's response)
-
correct. the first rounder we traded was for the 2012 draft.
-
They're probly just playing it safe with eaves. Stoked to see Mursak getting some ice time tho!

<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="ogreslayer" data-cid="2341209" data-time="1358526124">
No, both became waiver eligible last season.

Oh alright, thanks. How does that work though? I thought he was on a 2-way contract..? Or is it an age thing? -
<blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="Euro_Twins" data-cid="2341117" data-time="1358485239">
Just a thought, I noticed he still hasn't signed a contract. The devils have said they might be interested, as did the rangers. I think he would be an awesome signing, than we can put him on the second line and waive sammy goodbye. He is 36 but still a proven 20+ goal scorer, which we could certainly use. Just my opinion, would love to hear yours.

Plus there is the addition of how cheap he comes, we could probably get him for less than we payed for sammy

1. We have plenty of forwards. 2. We're not going to waive a player we just signed. I don't know why some people think thats going to happen. Sammy got signed for a reason, he wasn't signed just for the sake of signing someone.

Can Mursak be sent down without being waived or no? I thought he could but I could be wrong..? -

For a split second I read dupuis and thought pascal dupuis.. That'd be one good waiver pick up haha <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="rrasco" data-cid="2340995" data-time="1358453882">
Poor Conner. I always liked what I saw out of that kid.

I'd second this also. My friends dad is friends with his dad so I was always rooting for him.. -
sounds good to me. i'm excited to see what lashoff can do.. i think he'll surprise a lot of people. not right away of course but in a couple seasons, he should be ready.

If Kindl and coli are both out.. Is lashoff next up?
