Just came in for a quick "f*** Boston!"

These were my first two thoughts almost immediately. Wouldn't mind trading back into the first if he goes on a Veleno type slide.

Sounds like Holland will probly hold onto him for a couple more years then? -

Sure feels like it'll be Florida for him and Bobrovski. Could also see Panarin going to either of the New Yorks. I wish he'd come here but we don't need him enough to offer the most money and I think he'll go to whichever team does that. -

Contracts don't stop anyone from being benched. -
I like Zegras a lot too. I think for me it's: 1. Byram 2. Zegras 3. Turcotte 4. Caufield 5. Podkolzin That said, I'm starting to feel more and more like we should trade back. Ideally, trade back 2-4 spots, still get one of these guys, and trade back into the bottom of the first round.

Wonder what it would take to acquire the ghost bear?? he's coming off a down season, but I'd love to add him to our defense. -

I agree with all of the above. Definitely wouldn't want to trade back out of the top ten. But I also don't want to trade back hoping someone stays there. If our scouts are even on 3-5 people and trade back that many spots, then I'm for it.

The more I read/see about these guys, the more there seems to be excited about around this draft class. I still REALLY hope Byram somehow falls to us, but when he doesn't, there are so many forward prospects to be excited about. Any of Zegras, Turcotte, Cozens, Podkolzin, Caulfield and I'll be happy. Trading back is tempting with so many options, but I think if whoever "our guy" is, if we have one, is on the board when we pick we should take him instead of risking trading back.

Third straight year. Congrats, coach! Go USA!

I'm not so sure Byram is a lock to go to the hawks. I wouldn't be surprised at all, but they've drafted five defenseman in the first two rounds over the last three years. They could easily like him the most at 3, but they could just as easily like one of the centers imo. That said, Byram does seem destined to go top 5 no matter what. Unfortunately.

You can understand the Detroit fan confusion then...
