Hey now, just because he’s not my first choice doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be happy if we drafted Tkachuk -

I think my wish list order is: Zadina Wahlstrom Hughes Tkachuk Bouchard Dobson I would be pretty equally happy with any of these guys. Pretty stoked for this draft. Also, I’m glad to see Dellandrea and Lundkvist potentially on our radar at 30. Those are a couple of the guys that sound good to me in that range. -
It definitely won’t hurt.. I do wonder what the hold up is. Maybe he just wants to talk to other teams then circle back like Stamkos did? Please this.

Tkachuk for me. Wouldn’t be upset with Bouchard or Dobson though -
Montreal needs a center so Buffalo will probably pick 1st and 3rd on Friday

He could still be re-signed. They just don’t want an arbitration hearing to deem “wow big shot, much money, here ya go!” That said, if he leaves it’s no big loss. Best of luck to him.

I kind of hope Chicago trades for Panarin and gives up more than they got when they traded him away

Best timeline. Karlsson to Tampa confirmed.

Hossa’s cap hit is 5,275,000 for the next 3 years, but his actual salary is only 1 million per year. Meaning, a budget team could save the difference in actual money while putting the full hit toward the cap floor. They might even be able to void the payment since he won’t be actually playing.. not sure of the exact details on that. Also, I think the NHL decided that Hossa was ineligible for LTIR. Otherwise the Blackhawks would just put him on it and not bother trading him at all, let alone giving up a lot to do so. I’m sure they’ll want a mid 1st back if they’re really considering trading the 8th to get rid of Hossa’s contract anyway.. similar to when we got rid of Datsyuk’s.

If the rangers are serious about a rebuild, I could see them being all over taking Hossa and the 8th pick.... they have all kinds of cap space and then they'd have picks 8, 9, 26, 28, 39, & 48 this year.

Haha wellll, it's the only thing going on right now.... suddenly they have the potential for a lot of cap space
