Yeah, it depends on the return. I would love Zadina at 6. But picking a couple spots back and adding an early 2nd, while still getting a very good prospect would be hard to pass up. It'll depend on how high the wings are on Zadina vs. whats the best offer for the pick, basically.

I agree with this 100%. If I'm the Habs GM and I know for sure he's my guy, why risk someone else taking him by trading down? Then again, it'd be hilarious to see them trade down and whoever they trade with picking Kotkaniemi at 3

Yeah, good points. From the looks of the rankings, Boqvist could drop to the teens, similar to when the leafs got Liljegren. Obviously it’ll depend on team need on draft day a little, and how accurate TSN is, but he’s a guy I wouldn’t mind us trading up around 15 spots from 30 to get. Agree that there are a lot of exciting picks in the 25-40 range though. But if Zadina ends up sliding to us and that’s who we go with at 6, trading to get Boqvist too would be a pretty solid first round. Rasmus Sandin is another solid looking defense prospect ranked in the teens.

The more I read/get excited about the draft, the more I hope we can manage to get another top 10 pick. Picking Zadina/Wahlstrom and Bouchard/Hughes/Dobson is sounding better and better the more I think about it.

If that rumor is true, it’d be more of a starting point probably? What would be acceptable to you guys? Horvat + 7 for 30 + AA is probably not enough. Maybe Mantha? Not sure I’d do that though. What about 30, 2019 second, AA? They’d probably want one of our seconds this year and thensome though. But having 6 & 7 this year would be amazing.

This. Obviously Bouchard has the on ice skills too, but his off ice confidence when he was interviewed is his quality that sticks out most for me.. especially for how young he is. He didn't sound nervous at all and thinks he can make a difference in the NHL next year. He's full of confidence.

I like the bolded. Not that I think Kovy is likely but he still wouldn't be hard to trade to a contender on a two year deal while retaining salary and getting a decent return. Hutton is my preferred backup choice too I think, looking at the UFAs. I think he'd push Howard a little and would be solid insurance if he goes down at any point. Bylsma would be great, hopefully (fix our power play plz?)

Really though, I'm more of a Kings fan than Sharks but when my friend called me out on liking the Sharks, I said no but I like (then rattled off 5 or 6 players) and thought maybe I do like them. But I mostly point them out for big name UFA/trade targets because they're a competitive team with more cap space (depending on who they re-sign and for how much) than competitive teams typically have. Then again, I forgot about that ridiculous Evander Kane contract so maybe I don't like them so much now

If we do, hopefully he’s the steal of the draft. Ya know, in addition to every other pick we have ever. I do like Wahlstrom a lot. And hope that too.. with so many teams rumored to be open to trading down, the price may be a litttttle more reasonable than usual too.

Apparently, in one of his latest “Bobcast” pod casts, Bob McKenzie speaks about Jesperi Kotkaniemi being ranked in the top 5 by multiple NHL scouts. Montreal is very much in need of a center too. We could potentially have a shot at Zedina without trading up. If he or Tkachuk falls to us at 6, do we take one of them and worry about drafting defense later?
