Marchand Fined $10,000 For Kronwall Slew Foot
amato replied to ChristopherReevesLegs's topic in General
Wow.. Shocking development: scumbag player doesn't learn lesson from small fine. -
Ah gotcha. He does have a goal tonight though so maybe he's about to start another hot streak.. he's certainly capable of it any time he plays.
-
Not sure where you're getting your stats from, but praise has 3 points in his last 10 games (all assists). He did have a little hot streak in early January though.. https://www.nhl.com/player/zach-parise-8470610?stats=gamelogs-r-nhl&season=20162017 click on game log. edit for link

No, I wouldn't be surprised if they were extended before free agency at all. I would be surprised if we extended either before the expansion draft though.
-
I'd love to see McDavid take a very team friendly like 5 mill per year contract.. if others followed, they could have a reallll good team haha 99.9% chance that doesn't happen, but I like the oilers
-
It started about when the stamkos to Toronto thing started.. I think the media is distracted enough by their rebuild being ahead of schedule/recent relative success for the time being. If there is even the slightest hiccup in Tavares' contract negotiations this summer, don't be surprised when the Tavares to Toronto media hype picks right back up
-
Not necessarily for the wings because we have plenty of wingers and bigger needs, but Oshie could be an interesting FA to follow if Washington doesn't/can't re-sign him. He might be the most notable FA this year.
-
Definitely a little bit of a stretch but he did say he's open to talking extension this summer and added that he likes the direction that the organization is heading. It's not impossible for him to leave the NYI but it seems highly unlikely imo.
-
Ekblad signed an eight year extension last off season, and there's no way the islanders are going to get rid of Tavares. Not sure on the KHL guys but shattenkirk this off season remains a possibility.. I'd love to have him.

I don't think he's losing any sleep over it
-
He's also an RFA at the end of the year and if they thought they wouldn't re-sign him, maybe that factored in.
-
I didn't look too far into it but they mentioned something about not wanting to carry 8 defenseman
-
I read somewhere they had to waive a D man so they got what they could for one of them, thinking either would get claimed on waivers. Good deal for Montreal; added some depth.

March 8th @ Boston 8pm. Sounds like enough time to get Ott back in the lineup. Keep your head up, Schnoz -
Marchand Fined $10,000 For Kronwall Slew Foot

At least he's only like a seven time repeat offender....... -
Well, I guess I'm glad I forgot about this one
-
Didn't see it mentioned so, sorry if I missed it.... Marchand is having a hearing for the slewfoot on kronwall. Hope they suspend him. http://nhl.nbcsports.com/2017/01/25/marchand-to-have-hearing-for-dangerous-trip-on-kronwall-video/

Ok I gotcha. And the bolded part I can definitely agree with.

Right, I'm saying I think Varlamov, Fleury, and Bishop would get exposed before their younger, just as capable, counterparts. Coreau is only 25, he's not old and likely hasn't hit his prime yet but goalies are hard to project... Again, I'm not saying that Vegas is going to pick Coreau or that it's likely in the least bit.. just that he deserves a little more credit than you're giving him. And yeah, it depends on who we expose, but it also depends on who the other teams expose.... it's a little more complex than just "who's the better goalie prospect?"
-
There is no world where Pickard, Murray, or Vasilevskiy are exposed. Otherwise that'd be a no brainer for Vegas. I'm not saying that Coreau blows any of those other prospects out of the water and no doubt they're all young valuable prospects.. but looking at stats alone, his save percentages and GAAs have been better than some of the ones you listed. And while I don't think he's in much danger of being selected, I think Coreau deserves some credit to at least be in the conversation for the potential Vegas pick from the wings; especially looking at his NHL starts while considering the defense (or lack there of) playing in front of him. A lot of this obviously depends on who else is exposed on these teams too.
-
I don't know a lot about some of those but the ones I do know a little about/looking at stats.... First off, Pickard, Murray, and Vasilevskiy will all be protected no matter what. Linus Ullmark is exempt from the expansion draft. Malcom Subban has been terrible at the NHL level (albeit in very limited starts) and not quite as good as Coreau in the AHL. Anthony Stolarz or Philip Grubauer do look like they'd be a good picks for vegas though in terms of a younger depth goalie. But many of those goalies have done as good or worse than Coreau even at the AHL level. I'm not saying Coreau needs to be protected or even that I think they'd pick him but I think there's more than ZERO chance he gets picked if exposed.. obviously depending on who else is exposed by the wings.

Had a game myself so I couldn't watch the third.. was hoping to come back to better news. At least we got a point..? I feel like I've thought that way too many times in recent seasons.. ah well, not terrible missing two of our better forwards.

Eaves has 116 goals in 592 games.. 42 of which in 158 games the last 3 seasons playing in Dallas. Not trying to rag on Eaves, I like the guy, but the point was mostly that the line of Benn-Seguin-anyone is going to be a good line. Maybe I went on too much of a tangent and I agree Jurco is likely a third line player.. was just trying to think of who would take him and an ex assistant GM who may have had a hand in drafting him seems like the most likely to me.
