I dissagree. Look at our young D. That shows trust. We let bought a veteran in Coliacovo in order to give the reigns over to the young guys. I don't like that Tatar hasn't been playing and that Nyquist in the AHL. Also, I didn't like the signing of Cleary, but there is a transition going on.

I also think Tootoo's grade should be higher. I agree that his roster spot is better used by Tatar or Nyquist, but that's not his fault. He's done well with his opportunity and provided consistant effort and energy.

Almquist actually got a number of preseason games after he scored a couple of goals. I think he was one of the last players sent down. But I agree with you, It's interesting that Sproul got the call over Almquist. Maybe they just wat to see what the've got.

I think the reaction to Kronwall's injury showed how close our team is personally. I've seen some videos of injuries where everybody clears away, but it looked like everyone just surrounded Kronwall like they wanted to carry him to hospital themselves.

I think the idea is that DeKeyser will cover for him. I like the idea. Smith and Quincey are the weakest links, so it makes a more balenced line-up.

Last year he was coming back from wrist surgery and played on a panthers team that finished last in the league and only won 12 games. And to answer your first question. I don't know how good he is going to be. ITS BEEN 3 GAMES. Never really watched the Panthers... but from these 3 games and a bit of the pre-season he's looked pretty good to me. He can really skate.

Weiss a mediocre top six? Three games in. Way to give him a chance. Scoring the overtime winner isn't enough.

Yeah, maybe wishful thinking on my part, but I still don't think he'll be a scratch Wednesday even if Tootoo is healthy. Babcock hasn't shown a desire to give tootoo ice time and he'll be coming in cold.

Datsyuk's had only 2 fights - That actually seems to show that he hasn't had to protect himself. I mean everyone seems to fight at some point even if they have "protection."

Yes, Smith looks bad, but as others said, Kindl looked bad for quite a while. Howard also looked really bad the first bunch of games he played. Not a defenceman, but I think the point still stands that the NHL takes a while to get used to players not named Dekeyser.

I don't understand the how people have turned on Eaves. He was away from hockey for over a year with cuncussion problems and battled back. Then last year, the guy played well and I thought he really start to look like he did before the injury by the end of the year. He's got heart and I think it would be a big mistake if he's the odd man out this year as have predicted.

I agree with most of what you said except the part about market value. Last year, when Samuelsson was signed, there was a very thin FA crop. This raised up prices for those who were available. I agree that, based on his previous season of injury and age, he didn't warrant the contract, but that's not market value; that's real worth. Market value takes into account supply and demand - and last year: supply was low + demand was high = inflated salaries

Kenny doesn't decide who plays; Babcock does. There was an article at the end of the season where Babcock revealed that he butted heads with the front office over how certain players were used. This could have referred to many player (Abdelkader, White, NYquist possibly), but I think it most definately referred to Tootoo. Tootoo did do what Holland brought him in for, but it seems that Babcock was not on board.

I think when teams change jerseys it's an attempt raise merchandise revenue. I don't think it will work with stars fans if they have taste. I don't about san jose. it looks a little likre a football jersey with the waist.
