Mlive made an interesting choice of photos for their article about his return: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2015/09/red_wings_johan_franzen_looks_1.html http://imgick.mlive.com/home/mlive-media/width620/img/redwings_impact/photo/16605780-mmmain.jpg -

Quincey's going to be back there so he'll have some good coverage. Q-S has always been a scary combo so I'd prefer Q-K. We'll probably see both early on. -
There's plenty of scenarios. It could have even been taken and tampered with by someone who supports the victim. The reports of findings did help Kane's case - this would cast doubt on those findings that might have resulted in him not being charged. And, it turns more suspicion on Kane. Then again we don't know if those reports are true or if they were on evidence before or after the tampering. I don't think a jury could convict on the testimony of the accuser. There would have to be some other evidence. If Kane's side is proven to be involved with this tampering and we find out it was damning evndence that was tampered with, it could be that other something.

9/22 Exhibition GDT : @ Chicago Blackhawks 5, Red Wings 4 (OT)

I judge by the post-game interviews. Until he gets some solid Blashisms there will be no comparison. Also, how is his death stare? -
That's all true. Maybe he wouldn't have lasted as long had he stayed. It's hard not think that it cheated his legacy at least a little, though. Highest numbers matter more when we get farther removed from the time that the player actually played.
-
Maybe you should just follow his advise when it comes to your love life. Not career advise: I wish he'd never had gone to Russia - he'd be racking up the records right now.

Wow, I was way off with my prediction of White winning. Great to see that Mantha scored a couple. Also, I've been a bit uneasy about how Richards will fit in. Good to hear that he seems to be looking good.

I was just making a joke. Wasn't calling you out for the source.

So apparently he wasn't blackmailed by the girl. it was someone who found the selfie online and they expected to get money for it because the girl was dating someone else. Not sure why she would put the pic online in that case - maybe she got hacked. I expect better journalism from a respected institution such as Brobible!!

P.K. Subban Donates $10 Million Dollars to Children's Hospita

It's largest donation by a professional athlete in Canadian history. The original poster must have just mixed it up. -

I'm predicting a Team White win! (Sorry Z) -
This article gives reports that there was Kane's DNA beneath the woman's fingernails and on her shoulders which sounds like a struggle to me, but the article suggested that could have come from casual contact. http://sabres.buffalonews.com/2015/09/19/dna-test-results-spur-questions-in-kane-case/

Predict The Red Wings' 20+ goal scorers for '15-'16
PavelValerievichDatsyuk replied to kylee's topic in General
Well they've both really only played one complete year so yes it does mean something. If you want to play the linemates game. Goose was playing with Z 2 years ago while Tats was with lower lines (Helm and Sheahan). Also, Tats played with Pav, but it's not like Gus was with a pilon - he was usually with Z (who had more total points). Not sure what you mean with the PP argument. The PP was ranked 2nd in the league but we only had 2 serious threats? Gus had a lot of PP time and was 3rd in the league for PP goals. Was that supposed to be an argument explaining Gus's lower # of goals? Last year may have been TTs breakout year, but he's progressed pretty steadily. He had 17 more points than the year before, but he also played 9 more games and played with better lines. Both players have played nearly the same amount of games - Calling Nyquist's season a sophmore slump is pretty arbitrary - maybe 13-14 were inflated numbers - we don't know until he's played a couple more years. Anyway, I don't think we know how they'll end up, but It's certainly not laughable to think that Tatar will scored more goals. I mean, he just scored more goals, but your comment seemed like you were considering it an idiotic thought. Lastly, nhl.com list Nyquist as 1 inch taller and 2 pounds lighter. I don't think that should be considered a difference between them. -

PavelValerievichDatsyuk replied to kylee's topic in General
Not to derail the thread and I'm not saying TT is better, but why the lol? TT with more goals would be slightly more likely based on last year's points: Tatar: 29g+27a=56 vs. Nyquist: 27+27=54 -

Tatar (31) Nyquist (29) Abby (22) Datsyuk (20) Helm (20) Edit: Had to drop Datsyuk's totals down since he won't start the season -
P.K. Subban Donates $10 Million Dollars to Children's Hospita
PavelValerievichDatsyuk replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
But a foundation doesn't isn't always an organization that fundraises. A foundation can be - as It seems to be here - just a governing body that doles out the funds of one large donation. They won't be giving money to every patient's family, because, of course, there's many families don't need the financial help. They will need employees to go over cases one by one, hence the need for a foundation. Many foundations that give money over an extended period of time also invest money that won't be given right away so that real number will end up being greater in funds given away - So the foundation might control that. The article seems pretty clear that Subban is giving 10 million. Not sure why you've interpreted as a promise of 10 million that he will fundraise a portion of. -

Yes, he was. That was a mistake, though, since he played well the rest of the series. Wasn't the healthy scratch a result of him catching that line-drive on the bench or am I messing the timeline up? -

PSA: Scroll down on that article for the Ovechkin story. Abbott and Costello would be proud. -
It would be a dangerous to set up a situation where every professional athlete would be banned if they have an allegation against them. Beyond this situation, it's also about protecting players' rights. I really don't like Kane and it wouldn't shock me if he's guilty, but the way they deal with this sets a president. What if there's a similar situation where we all think the person's completely innocent? I think the Blackhawks and the league have to walk a fine line here, but I don't think they could ban someone there isn't even any charges yet. Both Voynov and Richards were charged. It is a different situation. Even if Kane's found guilty, they're not sanctioning a rapist, they don't know the facts and waiting out the legal process. I have a question to think about for your logic: If they banned him and the allegations are found to be false why wouldn't they be sanctioning defamation, alienating players and Kane supporters and taking that steaming pile to Kane's head?

Seriously, It is a foundation and it is charitable. There's nothing to suggest that he won't give 10 million himself It doesn't cost any money to name an atrium unless you mean the purple lettering they put up? -

PavelValerievichDatsyuk replied to ShanahanMan's topic in General
With that much money there will bea foundation that allocates the money. If you read the article, part of it goes to help families financially while their child is in care. Obviously that's given over a long period of time. Otherwise, you give the first 20 families a huge amount as some sort of lottery? As a side comment, I benefited in some medical care that I received due to a donation by Saku koivu. It's hard to understand the cynicism you're expressing when you've been in touch the effects of such a gift. These players are given a lot by the community and it's great to see them give back. PK has gone above and beyond here. Edit: Also, There will be a huge number of families that will be helped out. The may have been forced into economic hardship due to the disease or maybe this allows them to take off time from work so that they can be with their child's treatment. If I were in their situation, I'd definitely want to know who to thank. -

Though Abby-Helm would be great for the 2nd PK, Abby probably won't be PKing. He'll be on the PP and the first line with Dats. That would make a lot of minutes. He might be able to handle it, but I don't think it's worth it. Glen-Miller Helm-Ferraro/Andy/Jurco (yes, krsmith is mad at me) or whoever is the final 4th line spot) or Sheahan if he's not on the PP -
Haven't followed Grabner. Can someone tell me why he only played 34 games last year? Maybe Babs' and Shanny are looking for a reclamation project and are looking at that 34 goal 10-11 season. Seems like a good move for them since there's little risk since those prospects don't sound like much to me (though that just could be limited knowledge on my part).
