No problem with Jurco in the lineup. He's got a long way to go but obviously still want to hold onto him. We have too many small wingers we're going to need his size

If we were able to finish off the Hawks in 2013 this 'dynasty' of theirs would be dramatically different

I would be okay with this if we traded some of our depth forwards away for something of value

If he can prove to be an effective PKer and responsible defensively while chipping in offensively I can see him getting a shot with the wings later in the year

I want to see Sheahan center our 2nd line through most of the season and Pulkinnen and Jurco scoring. Also would love to see Franzen come back and play. Trade Weiss for anything or even Helm if we can get a return. Would like a shake up on defense one way or another

There is absolutely zero chance Howard gets moved. You can bank on the two splitting duties for at least a year. Pretty good situation, we'll have a deadly tandem where both goalies are more than capable of running with it. Lots of competition every night can't wait

I think there is a very small minority here that is actually happy Babs signed with Toronto. Just some people making the best of it and of course, getting bit overly optimistic but that's the way it is. Babcock is gone time to move on. We'll be so sick of hearing from the media how terrible we are without Babs all season it will eventually make us resent him

Dont get me wrong though, i think Babs is an incredible coach and i would have been thrilled with him resigning here but it is what it is. I for one am happy and excited about having a new voice and direction even if it may be similar. This team has needed something to reinvigorate them for a while now, i think everybody can agree with that

I dont see what's wrong with being excited about having a new coach. I think the youngsters will show some more creativity offensively, something that has been severely lacking on this team. Of course their is going to be some growing pains going with a coach with zero NHL experience, but if Babcock is still the best coach in the NHL after only winning two playoff series since 09 then Blashill can't be considered a failure if he doesn't get us to the second round So is Number9 trolling or what? Seems like since Babs left you've changed to SimonSin levels of doom and gloom

Babcock is probably thinking "We've only lost by one goal in each game so we don't have to change anything, just get some more bounces our way." When the fact is, the Wings are getting completely outplayed every game. It's like he is satisfied by only losing by one goal. He was defeated before the series even started. I can't find any logic in his moves this series. In game 2 when the Wings were getting dominated he obviously needed to mix up the lines and get some kind of sense of urgency but he sat back and did nothing. Anybody could coach this team the way he has. Just keep throwing the same lines and maybe every 5 minutes we'll get a shot on goal.

what the hell is babcock doing. Modano would bring a lot more to the team than Miller Eaves Abdelkader Cleary. Give the guy a chance, such a retarded move, I don't understand this at all. At least make some kind of move. Babcock was completely out coached this series and everyone knew it and he made no adjustments. The Wings needed some kind of spark and Babcock handled it horrendously. I think Babcock is a huge reason were down 3-0. This team has too much talent to float around with no interest in a playoff series, the coach is supposed to adjust when nothing is going your teams way.

those are his stats for all this years playoff games. Helm can dump the puck and retrieve it himself how is that not helpful on the top two lines plus he actually back checks. The Sharks are entering the wings zone with ease. The Sharks carry it in and its a one on one and by the time the other four wings catch up to the play there are four more sharks that want the puck more. I say scratch either miller or eaves and put drapes in aswell. The wings are 0-2 without draper in the lineup... just saying

You know your team is in trouble when threads like this pop up. I believe the intent to blow whistle rule pretty much guarantee they would have waived off the goal even if it did cross the line. What kind of pissed me off about game 2 was when Eager i think it was got a 10 minute misconduct yet the wings never got a powerplay out of it.

Abdelkader has 0 points and is a -3, he's taking game changing penalties and generates nothing positive. I much rather have Hudler in and scratch Abby for Modano. Seems pretty obvious that is the change that should be made. Also move Helm around the lineup, all this guy does is create energy for any line he's on. Abby should take notes, I think his scoring streak during the season made him think he has some offensive abilities which isn't true he needs to play like a grinder and stop trying to do more than he's capable of.

I love the wings jerseys of course but I was thinking a cool idea for a third jersey would kind of be like the canucks vintage jerseys they use sometimes... have the the real old small red wing with just the jersey numbers and maybe use black and white colors like you were looking at an old picture of gordie howe... idk about the colors just make it really vintage looking and it would be cool to see the wings not in red every once in a while...

I think other than Lidstrom detroits defense has been terrible. If the opposing team gets the puck in detroits zone with two forecheckers it is guarenteed there getting the puck with atleast two chances for detroit to get it out with someone keeping it in the zone... The wings forwards have been great though single handedly killing penalties if the wings forwards weren't playing so well the wings would be in the s***s... i have never noticed such bad defense on any other team ive watched so far this season.... its quite clear that detroits defense is the problem there forwards have been great though.... the worst d men on the team go as follows from worse to better Janik, Salei, Kronwall, Stuart, Lidstrom, Rafalski

booo i wanna see the real wings! love the kids getting a chance but lets embarrass the blackhawks, sooo excited for this season the year of FILPPULA.... 51=91???... maybe? I'm so excited to see #51 I have always noticed so much skill in his play and it seems like these forums are dissapointed in him he has such a quick release and watching him hold on to the puck in the offensive zone reminds me of datsyuk and suuuch a good hardworking fore checker... I can't say enough about filppula... and also cleary... I think cleary and filppula will be the big difference between this season and last season, hudlers a nice addition but he wont steal any games and I think modano will be the quiet anchor, he won't do anything breathtaking but those lines have the ability to carry the play throughout the entire game and that is DETROIT RED WING HOCKEY BABY!! so excited!!!

Oh yes do i remember that goal... the wings would have been down 3-1 in the series if they lost... I went from absolute sadness to happiness after that goal Now that its been a few years I think the wings deserved to lose that series, but the one last year was complete bull... I remember being totally frustrated from the start to finish of every game in that series, except of course game 4
