Not only that, but the entire reason it looked like he lost track of the puck to begin with was because he was waiving his arms around about something down ice and wasn't even paying any attention to the puck whatsoever, which obviously led to him him whiffing on it and giving up that horrible goal.

At least tonight, Dats missing the net is a good point as well. I agree with the consensus, Howie lost this one for us tonight, but lest we not forget Dats had a couple great chances as well tonight where he just straight up missed the net.

I think fans of a lot of teams feel that way about the Wings. My buddy lives down in Nashville and talks about how much of a huge rivalry the Wings have with the Preds, and that he thinks if is one of the biggest rivalries in the NHL. He thinks I am lying or just trying to bust his balls when I tell him that people up here don't really think of the Preds as a big rival, let alone our main rival.

Not really directed at you, but just a general statement based on this quote. The real fans (IMO) are the ones who ARE critical of the team, players, organization. (Its like politics. The REAL Americans, who actually love and care about this country, are the ones who are extremely critical of the President and politicians for their horrible and destructive decisions and policies regardless of which party is currently in office.) As far as the Wings, like a lot of people here, I 'm from the general area (Toledo) and have been following them for many years. Its like a drug. I've been watching them for so long now, that I am addicted, and can't stop. lol Its a great organization, IMO, and I like the attitude, work ethic, and the way they general handle themselves and go about things.

This is exactly how I feel too. During the lockout I got used to no hockey and started to realize how much time and energy I had been wasting devoting my time to watching some game on the idiot box. I still love the game and the Wings, but now I pretty much never watch any games other than the Wings unless I literally have absolutely zero else to do. My interest has waned to the point were I have actually even forgot that Wings games were on a couple times until I turned on the tube and saw it midgame. That would have never happened to me in years past...

The winter classic jerserys? I like the Leafs, still not a big fan of ours though. Maybe they'll grow on me too though, who knows...

Don't take this the wrong way, but... (not based on this post specifically, but the last several posts of yours in this thread) How old are you and how long have you been a Wings fan? (and follow up, are you related to Dan O'Halloran? *wink*) Anyone who has bothered to watch Wings games over the past several years, Wings fan or not, will tell you that O'Halloran most definitely has a negative bias against the Wings, whatever the reason may be. You are literally the only one who disagrees here.

Do people actually hate on Abby? If they do, they should get slapped. Abby is one of our hardest workers game in, game out consistently.

Yeah, I felt the exact same way. I saw him as being similar to Helm, with the potential to be a lot better eventually, since he seemed to have better hands than Helm. Imagine someone like Helm with insane speed who can get a lot of breakaways, but can actually convert one now and again...alas, seems Mursaks chance has passed now though. He had horrible luck with injuries, but... c'est la vie.

That would set a very dangerous precedent, I would think. Just think... every time any hit occured and resulted in injury, felony assault charges could be filed agaist the player who delivered the hit. Imagine what that would do to the game...

Its funny that you say this in an attempt to talk about the importance of college, when in reality what you are describing is the whole go to college, get a degree, and become a good little 9-5 work slave for millionaires and billionaires scenario that most people in this country fall victim to...except its usually a LOT more than a mere two decades that they slave away in that job that they hate that their college degree scored them.

Beauty period. Aside from the goals and Abbys hat trick, my favorite part had to be when the Wings shot it out and the refs had a little meeting and ruled no penalty, and then the camera pans to a close up of Boudreau cursing at the refs, and Redmond says; "and you can see what Mickey Rooney thinks about that!"

Well, almost everyone here, as evidenced by the thread the other week about allowing challenges, is in favor of this blown refs call and disallowing the good goal. I was one of the only people pointing out that this exact situation is why we need to allow coaches to challenge a refs call. For "non-reviewable" calls like this...
