LOL 12 mil? 15 mil? Are you serious? Please tell me what other player is making that kind of money and why you think Fedorov would be making that kind of money in todays NHL. Lot of players were making that kind of money ten years ago, pre-salary cap. Lidstrom was making 10.5 mil a year 10 years ago. Everyone took salary cuts when the salary cap went in place.

It has already been mentioned in this thread, but clearly it bears repeating... This was NOT just a decision made solely by Holland or the Wings, this was a MUTUAL decision by ALL of the multiple teams involved in the tournament.

Should Kronwall have to answer the bell for his hits?
sleepwalker replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
I'd just like to point out that there is a big difference between leaving your feet to jump into a player, and leaving your feet slightly AFTER impact due to the momentum. -
Bummer. It looks like a lockout is coming. Especially with Bettman saying that the players and GMs are so far apart. And despite the players saying they would play without a new CBA, the owners have said that they definitely will lock the players out if there is not an agreement (translation: if the players don't cave to all the owners demands) by the 15th. Starting to look inevitable, unfortunately...

Googled him to see some stats, and this is the first video that comes up. And you thought the Big Snakes were some big boys, check out this mother!

Wow... I honestly can't believe that there are still people out there that think this hockeyinsiderrrrrp clown has even a tiny bit of credibility. As has been repeated over and over on this an other boards..if you throw thousands of pieces of sh*t at a wall, eventually one will stick. After reading rumor after rumor that people posted from Hockeyinsiderr, I now think that he is so bad and full of sh*t, that he makes Ecklund look like a respected Pulitzer winning jourrnalist.... and THAT is pretty bad.

Wings & Yandle twitter-rumors? Believable?
sleepwalker replied to Manny>Ozzie(by a long shot)'s topic in General
To all the people all of the sudden talking about Fil + Nyquist + picks for Yandle (which seems to be most people in this thread now)...did you actually hear this from any source at all? Or are you just basing the whole thing off of this sarcastic post from earlier in this thread: -
This is an interesting point. The fall of the Soviet Union could have played a major part in the shift, if there indeed was a shift, in attitude. Under Soviet rule the mentality was strict and of do whats best for the team/country/organization, teamwork achieves the utimate goal. The fall of the Soviet Union was a very interesting event as the country shifted from a strict regimented communist country, to a wild-west true-capitalist gangland utopia in a very quick fashion. And the mentality thus shifted from "teamwork" to "self/money, etc."

He is not. I read it the same way, because, well, thats exactly what it said. That Quincy and Smith will "replace" (the exact word he used) Stuart and Lidstrom. Oh, and I am not some doom and gloom negative person about this off season, I've been staying positive and hoping for the best, so you cannot attempt to refute MY comment by passive attacks and accusing me of only being negative like you did with him. You know what I'd like to see people give a rest? (in general, not just here at this forum) Calling anyone with a different opinion or alternate suggestion a "hater" or "basher" Those are such lame, overused internet terms. Don't agree with me? Oh, you're a hater then. Post any other comments or alternate suggestion? Quit bashing. Lame.....

I can see this being the case. The players are not going to roll over this CBA like they did last one. And if one of the proposals is a drop in the cap, the players will definitely never approve it.

Reminder: Personal attacks, trolling will not be tolerated
sleepwalker replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
Yeah, since you already named him, the fact that their has been so much static here and this thread is even necessary has tons to do with that centcougar kid. Myself and others have made posts letting people know that he is just a hockey forum troll, and does this same trolling on various other teams forums for fun too and to just ignore him, but I know that is easier said than done, and obviously some people couldn't ignore his incessant trolling, which let us here to this thread... -
Wow... I wasn't too happy about us trading a first for him. I finally decided to give the guy a chance and see how he plays this season, and now this? F*ck Quincy.
-
You guys do realize that that centcougar guy just signs up to various hockey forums for no other reason than to troll their fans, right? You shouldn't even give him the time of day.

You're talking 8 million dollars. Thats not exactly pocket change. Of course it matters.

Zach Parise agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild
sleepwalker replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Exactly. I stand by my assertion and would even bet money that if Det or Pit or another top contender had made the same 100 mil-ish offer for both Suter and Parise, that they'd be signed with one of those teams right now. Money talks. -

sleepwalker replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Firstly, is there a Suter contract signing thread here? I searched and didn't see one. Secondly, hockey fans can quit all the silly "these guys aren't about the money talk" now that Ive been hearing the past few days from various fans, as we can see that they clearly are all about the money. If Det or Pit had offered them the same 100 mil, they'd be signed with either Det or Pit. Point blank. -
Its one thing to repeat a rumor you may have heard somewhere from time to time, but Eklund just straight up makes s*** up off the top of his head daily and creates his own rumors and then tries to spread them. I think its safe to say he is one of the least credible "sources" in all of pro sports and without a doubt the least credible in the NHL.

How much? According to the OP, we'll just trade them Frazen for Nash straight up and the Jackets will just be hunky dory with that.

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild

Eh, what can you expect. His generation was raised by the boomers, aka, the original ME/entitlement generation who just passed down their views to their kids.- 487 replies

Yes they did. After a thorough investigation revealed the accusations against him were completely baseless.

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
sleepwalker replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Not really. Not lowballing him by (by the reports) 20 million less than some other teams with their initial offer, when everybody knows that we NEED Suter, would have shown that they are serious. This is why you don't try the extreme lowball tactic with somone when you both know damn well that you need them. The Wings bumped their offer up by 10 mil in the blink of an eye. Suter has to be thinking, well if they did that, they'll probably match any offer I get from any other team. If they had offered him like 90 up front, with some wiggle room, it might have been a done deal. Now its possible we might have to pay even more than that. Shrewd negotiating doesn't work so well when the other party knows that they have your back up against a wall and your just posturing.- 487 replies

Positive. Plus Crosby already has a bunk bed down in Marios basement that he shares with Bettman. -

sleepwalker replied to Dominator2005's topic in General
OMG!!! I know it was just specualtion up to this point about Suter waiting for Parise so they could both sign to the same team. I still don't know which team that might be, but I have it on a very reliable source that Suter and Parise were just seen at Denver Mattress holding hands and shopping for bunk beds together! -

To the non-US folks...tomorrow is a holiday here thats typically spent at home with your family, so if he doesn't make his decision today (I personally don't think its likely he'll decide today) then he may not have any additional word until Thursday.
