Got Damn!!! Gotta love Larkin. The team, like usual as of late, pisses off a full 4 minute penalty in pathetic fashion... Then... finally patched up, Larkin comes in to defend the honor of his lost teeth and scores a "sick" goal and assists on another "sick" play! f***in A!!!

WTF. Are the camera guys and the sound guys all drunk or high today? First the aspect ratio, then the weird zoom ins, now the break songs running in the background...

I'm glad the idiot running the main camera finally realized that he had the aspect ratio all f***ed up.

It would have been so awesome if they didn't catch that off sides and the Wings scored and there was nothing STL could do about it since they already used their challenge.

Gudas is such a scumbag. Every time I see him play it just reaffirms what a complete d-bag he is. Too bad there are no old school goons left in the NHL to smash his face in and give him what he deserves.

Like many of us, every now and then I miss a live Wings game and have to catch the FSD replay the next day. While I appreciate being able to watch the replay, this year they are heavily editing the games replays "for time". They allot 2 hours for the replay. If you take out the 7-15 minutes of pregame chit chat, and both 17 minute intermissions, you should be able to fit it within the allotted time with little to no edits. I don't know if they have a new head of programming this year who has no common sense, or what. But instead of doing the obvious, as I listed above, and editing out the pregame chat and starting the game on the hour, instead they are showing the pregame chit chat and opting to edit out a 10 minute or so chunk of the game instead. And what is more annoying is that even though they edit out a chunk of the game, they still show the commercials from the block they chopped out. So this past game, they go to commercial and are about to come back and run the "this game has been edited for time, we now return to the game in action" message, but go right back to another 2 minute chunk of commercials, so like 4 minutes straight of commercials! As far as the edit itself, you'd think they might take a couple minutes out here or there where there is little action. Wrong. They just edit out a solid 8-10 minute chunk of the game. Last game they went to commercial 16 minutes into the first and came back 5 minutes into the second. Wtf? Sorry, just had to get that off my chest. The edits on the replays this year are annoying considering they can make time by editing out the pregame chat instead. And previous years they did just that. Anyway....LGW!

Nothing to do with the FSD rant, but watching replays, especially this year with the seemingly endless one point games, is kind of a giveaway and ruins some of the fun. I mean, you look at the game clock when your team is down one goal near the end of the game and see there is only 3 minutes left, and only 5 minutes left in the allotted replay run time on fox sports, and it is clear who is going to win...

No, I don't. My technology game is basic. I just have regular cable. (and an old school flip phone and an "old school" desktop computer, lol)

Wow... Just reaffirming what most of us already know... Howard SUCKS on the shootout. Is it legal to switch goalies for the shootout? (and if so, why would the Wings let Howie defend the shootout)

@ tripod No its not. LOL The only sport that comes close to the ineptness of the NHL is UFC. And those some of those refs are literally unquestionably corrupted by big money interests and vegas gamblers.

This game is, sadly, just another in the long line of examples of the NHL refs trying to intentionally throw a game to one team. With both teams committing pretty much equal levels of infractions, yet no call on Washington and 4 on Detroit. And as I type this, the refs accomplish their goal. This is the reason the NHL is losing actual real fans that actually know about hockey. (despite the fact they may be gaining fair weather and/or temporary new "fans") The reffing is a joke at best, and corrupt and intentionally throwing games at worst. Worst officiating in any big pro sport, by FAR.

How the hell do the Wings go shorthanded on that? If anything it should be a wash. I'm pretty sure the league made it illegal several years ago to grab an opponents helmet and rip it off during a fight to gain the advantage.

As was already pointed out, the rink size will not be changed. It would cost tens, if not hundreds of millions of dollars to convert all the NHL arena surfaces, not to mention the millions in revenue that would be lost due both the time it would take and the seats that would be lost. Not feasible.

I agree with F Michael. While the charges sound scary, it could simply be the case of him bringing his gun with him to hunt. Simply having the gun to begin with would be "possession in an unauthorized place" getting it there is "unauthorized importing" and not having enough trigger and case locks, or not having certain accessories stored separately would be "careless storage". Could be as simple as he just brought a gun (or two) up to hunt with not fully knowing all the laws and regs, and got the book thrown at him to make an example.

Larkin won't get it until after Abby retires. Abby will be captain next most likely. Unless Z retires early, then maybe Kronner will get it in between Z and Abby.

Red Wings biggest arch enemies? The NHL refs. Honorable mention to the "department of player safety", who wouldn't suspend anyone who took a dirty head shot at a Wing, unless the shot was with a bullet. (and even then, they'd probably have some excuse about how the Wings player put himself into the path of the bullet, and thus, no discipline)

As an Abby fan, I don't really have problem with the average yearly salary amount, but 7 years seems a bit long. Would liked to have seen 5 max.

Wow. And apparently it all happened just because the owner was butthurt over his kid not getting enough ice time in his mind. BUT his kid was even so disgusted by the gesture that he was one of the players that quit. Interesting stuff. Wonder what the Wings brass are going to do about this seeing that Saarijarvi is (was) on the team...

I meant tonights puck drop time, not just the start of the broadcast. I think they have a HOF ceremony before the game today and that's why the broadcast starts early at 7. I'm trying to figure out what time I need to make it to a TV by. I'm guessing around 7:30 maybe...

DAs rarely refuse to prosecute a case unless there is a LOT of evidence against it. Its really sad that their are women out their who actually get raped that people don't take seriously because there are so many assholes out falsely claiming rape.
