I don't see how that place can be selling tickets for an event that was announced yesterday and is presumptively not on sale yet. Plus, it doesn't adhere to the season ticket holder first and then lottery system as anticipated. I don't know anything about that site, but I would say don't buy anything from them. Then again, it is linked from the 2013winterclassic.com site. I have no idea. $3200 for section A. LOL.

I realize Detroit and surrounding areas are going through some hard times, but they are not going to sell tickets for less and ensure you get one because you are unemployed and can't afford to go. This is absolutely none of my business and I am not trying to lecture you, but if times are that hard, maybe attending the WC should be the least of your priorities. I wish you the best of luck in making it happen.

I have to budget my money as well, but if it's in the realm of possibility for me to manage to get a ticket and make it up to Detroit, I'm doing it. Do I wish they were going to put tickets on sale like normal? Absolutely. You have to realize that if there is a high profile event like this, you are going to have to pay to go, and probably more than $100. I would expect tickets to be a minimum of $100. I bought tickets to game 5 of the SCF in 09, sat in section 204, by myself, and paid $300 for that one ticket which I bought directly from Ticketmaster at face value. I also needed a $500 plane ticket to make it up there as well. I spent a grand to see one hockey game. I wanted to go and I had to pay for it, but I went and had the time of my life. There will be tickets and yes I understand it sucks to pay more than face value, but if that's what it comes down to, I'll do it. How do you even know the scalpers will end up with all the tickets in the lottery? They're chances are just as good as yours, technically. If you're so worried about it, buy season tickets and you will get first stab at them. I wish I lived in Detroit, I'd already have season tickets, bar none. My point is, if you want to go, you can.

That's what I always thought was stupid, I always saw contests on NHL.com where you could 'win' a 'chance' to 'buy' tickets. Some contest. FWIW, there will be some on stub hub for sure. How much they will be is anyone's guess. This year's WC you could buy tickets on SH for around $300, my sister-in-law was looking just to see. If I lived anywhere near Detroit I would already have season tickets, or at least buy them to get access to WC tickets.

Let's just hope there are any games played after the playoffs in 2012. Would only seem fitting for a lockout to occur and mess up our party.

I'm not worried about it. If I was able to get tickets to the SCF in 09 then this shouldn't be a problem. The only issue is that I have never heard of WC tickets actually going on sale in prior years. Then again, I never really cared either. I'll be going, no matter the cost, but it would be nice to have extra beer money.

Yes. It's not just younger players, a lot of guys leave him alone for the most part. I think it's a respect thing. Not that he is untouchable, but you don't hit TPH. It's just one of those thing. And like you said, he's not going to run around hitting people either.

First one that comes to mind is SJ because until we beat them in a series, I won't be satisfied. It's like when Chicago won in 2010, I didn't really care because they didn't go through the Wings to do it. Sure they won it, but they didn't beat the best on the way. Of course, I want that tie breaker against the Pens, but I also don't want the Pens to ever win another game, much less make the SCF. And for the record, it was Staal's SH goal (game 3?) that changed that series. If Pasha's foot wasn't broken we would have won that series too, hands down. I'm glad he played game 5, it was my first Wings game, and one hell of a game to boot. Don't forget Zetterberg hit the crossbar with a few minutes left in game 7 too. Okay, now I'm done reliving that nightmare.

I've noticed it too. I tend to see it happen more when there is less than a minute. I always thought it was just the FSN clock not syncing up 100% with the real game clock or having something to do with only 2 or 3 digits in the clock. All speculation on my part, of course. While we are on topic, I'm pretty sure it was this year, but does anyone remember that happening to the Wings? It wasn't at 1.8 and led to the tying goal, but I remember we were on a PK and the clock didn't tick for 15-20 seconds. I remember being pissed because it meant we spent an extra 20 seconds or so on the PK. IIRC, Ken even pointed it out.

While I agree it is better suited for playoffs, some people don't have the opportunity to go to the playoffs. Especially when it's people that normally attend road games, like myself. There is no guarantee the Wings will play the Preds in the playoffs. There is a guarantee they will play them there in March. I wanted to throw one in Dallas last month, but decided against it. I figured I'll do it at the Joe in the Finals this year.
