Here is a better angle. I don't think it's suspension worthy, but there is no doubt Koivu knew what he was doing. He played the man before the puck, the same thing Bert got called on a few games ago that they let slide on more than one occasion in this game. Immediately prior to the Miller penalty was one, there was another one I remember that was identical to Bert's the other game too. Koivu wasn't protecting the puck, he crouches down and jumps up into the hit with his back, leaving his feet. How many times do you see a player leave his feet while protecting the puck they haven't begun to play yet?

That angle sucks, there was a much better one. I remember thinking it was an elbow, then on the reverse angle you can see it wasn't really. I think something hit his head though and it sure looks like Koivu gets the elbow up, just not sure if there was contact with the elbow or not.

It only happens when a contract expires, similar to how lockouts in sports leagues occur when a CBA is expiring and a new contract is not negotiated in time. It seems like it's always Fox that has the high profile carriage fee wars with providers, so I blame them. In the last couple of years they've had disputes with TWC, Dish, and now Directv. Next year, or sooner, it will be another provider (Comcast, AT&T, etc) and customer base that will be held hostage by News Corp.

You know, I never connected the dots until earlier, but I guess we should have seen this coming after Homer played in back to back games this weekend. I remember seeing him play on Saturday and being like, hey, I thought he wasn't playing back to back.

We all saw this coming, but it's still great news! Now, let's hope he lives up to the hype, as he did in preseason.

Just to put it in stone: On my Directv, FSD just blacked out and NHLN-US is the only available feed I get. However, luckily it's the FSD feed NHL Network picked up tonight.

If it wasn't a loss, they wouldn't call it an "OT loss". I realize it's not a regulation loss, but it's still a loss. If you didn't win the game, then you lost the game. There are no more ties in hockey. Going back to the original comment...it was said they played lost 2 out of 11 games, that's implying they won 9. On that note, I sure hope we don't trade Flip. Was there anyone mentioned in return?

So what you're saying is your first post was incorrect and what you meant to say was they lost 4 games, 2 in OT, and have played 11 games. I didn't look it up b/c you presented me with all I needed when you stated they had 2 losses in 11 games...OT loss is still a loss. I don't care if analysts act like it's not.

Try both channels, the RSN and the CI channel. Although, tonight the game is on NHLN-US so FSD will be blacked out for us out of marketers.

I'm not saying they couldn't feel good about it, for a little while, they most certainly can. You play one game at a time, but in the big picture things are not looking hot at all for them. Look at things around here, the Wings are 5-2 and the sky is falling. Imagine if we were 1-7, we'd be on suicide watch.

That is correct. I am in Texas and watched the HD feed on FSD, channel 663. Did you subscribe to Center Ice yet? It was a free preview until October 23, but in order to watch Tuesday's game you had to of subscribed. EDIT: I just checked right now, all four games I see on are available in HD.

Have they? FSD worked on Tuesday for me. I didn't watch any hockey last night though. I will definitely be complaining until I get something for free.

I think it's just the national channels that cause blackouts. IIRC, when the Wings play the Stars (I'm in TX) I can choose from either FSD or FSSW.
