Former NBA players son on path to pros... in... NHL?!
rrasco replied to stevkrause's topic in General
It's all Mo's fault. -
I don't think Rome ever intended on making that kind of play, but he did. If he kept his feet on the ground and hit him a little lower, I bet we don't even see a call. There was no initial interference call on the ice until after Horton was injured. Hell, I was staring right at the play and didn't see the initial contact, just Horton laid out with stiff arms. The call was in response to the injury. Late hits like that happen in every game of the NHL, I believe people refer to it as finishing a check. I personally don't think he hit him as late as some people are claiming it to be, but it was a little late. I'm kind of middle of the road on this one. I see the faults in the hit and I also see why it is considered borderline. It's not the definition of rule 48, but it's a very similar hit in the way it went down, including the result. A little late of a hit, appears to make contact with head, and he leaves his feet. All things that could be taken into consideration that Rome could have done to prevent his circumstances.

What do these numbers mean? I mean, what is the significance of the numbers listed by each market? 1.5/2....what does that mean?

That was from before the announcement. But yea...

When did the Wings play the Sharks at the UC? And they're sponsored by LGW, lol. And they're both wearing white! Just micromanaging, ya know...

I am critical of this team too. Fans are critical because they care. Fans are supportive because they believe. And Ericsson is useless...
-
LOL. Defending the Wings on LetsGoWings is also tiresome.... Keep up the work, I didn't even think to attempt venturing into 'shark territory' after this has unfolded.

This, I agree with. I know I'm not changing anyone's opinion, not trying to. The people I am talking to however are those debbie downers who get some satisfaction out of trying to ruin the parade for everyone trying to stay positive. People can say what they want, I'm not trying to censor anyone, but I am going to call them out on what they say, especially here. They think I'm an irrational idiot and I think they are crybaby bandwagon *******. That's fine with me.
-
I'm not trying to be. Not at all. I'm appalled everyone is so tolerant of this crap. Incredible site overrun with rampant crybabies. Say what you want about the team, ultimately, it won't affect me. But it does make our fan base look like a bunch of whiny little *******, which is exactly what all the others say about us and will continue to. Sorry for calling the kettle black.
-
They always do that. They did it in game 4 last year when they were getting blown out and they have done it three straight losses now. Clowe for sure in game 4, think him again in game 5, and somebody had to step up in his place since his ****** was sore last night.

I like when people single me out and call me a ******* idiot for believing a team can do something that has been done before, in the last year none the less. Sorry for supporting the Wings on a Wings site. I'll try to hate the Wings more when things get rough. That's the problem, no we are not. Most of us are, yes. Then there are the pompous assholes that want to call people idiots for believing the improbable can happen and run around saying it can't be done. I realize the odds. Everybody does. There is no mystery what a task the Wings were facing, and are still not done with. If you go back and read this thread, it was a post I said we should stand united and back the red and white that I was called an irrational idiot for. That, I don't appreciate simply for believing in our team. And if you were to go back and read my first post in this thread, I admitted it is unlikely it would happen, but I also said it was possible and I still believe. I guess taking shots at supportive fans isn't silly. Forgive me for being so irrational and standing up for this team on a site dedicated to them. Sorry for making this into an ordeal, really, but I'm not gonna sit by, on a Wings site and let these tools ruin the ******* parade with their pessimistic 'rationality'. If the Wings win game seven, they're just gonna come out and be like...'they'll never get by the Canucks ', or some other bulls*** drivel. Have some ******* backbone and quit whining.

Some of us are here to support the team. Some others, for some reason, feel the need to try and spread their negativism. Wonder how many of these naysayers believe now. Why wouldn't they? The Wings are winning. I sure hope it's ok for me to believe now. I wouldn't want to be irrational or anything...

They said it after the game. I'm sure it will come up in writing somewhere soon.

Making history before they make history! Go wings!

Technically, I said: I said I don't feel like they're on our side. It's one thing to state your opinion that you don't think they're gonna do it. It's another to say they can't do it. The latter doesn't speak much of a fan. If you can consider that being a fan, it's a fair-weather fan at best. Because after all, fans support their team no matter what, right? What do we call people who only like their team when they are winning? Oh ya. I realize the odds have been against the Wings, they had to win four in a row, which has only been done 3 times, ever. I witnessed one of those times, what were the odds in seeing that? They've now won two in a row. They now have to win two in a row. Do you know what they just did? Won two in a row. There is enough negativity around here as it is, we don't need Wings fans coming to Wings forums to be negative. That my friend, is asinine.

Look out, don't everyone be irrational at once now, some people can't handle that around here.... If you still believe, good you for you, I'll buy you a beer any day. The rest of you, well, go root the the Pens or something.
-
I ignored it the first time you called me an idiot, now you spout off and do it again. Well, you know what...f*** you. I explained what I thought and apparently I'm irrational for believing the Wings can pull off something that is against the odds. How exactly is that irrational? Please explain this Mr. Rationality.....

The anxiety set in last night for me watching the Nashville game. I felt what the Preds fans were feeling knowing that we have the same mountain to climb as they were trying to. If you have the means, don't ever miss a game. The only games I usually get to attend are when we play in Dallas. I went to the first game in October (which we lost) and due to some unfortunate circumstances I didn't have PTO to attend the game in December, when Eaves got his hat trick, and otherwise a spectacular come back and game all together. I've considered moving to D just so I could get season tickets and go to every wings game, seriously. The game I paid $1K to go to was my first wings game, game 5 of the SCF in 2009, and I almost didn't go. Man did I pick the right game to go to and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. As a matter of fact, that's my yearly goal, to have enough money to make it to Detroit and into JLA if they make the Finals.
-
Hell ya it did. Players hide injuries, especially concussions, because they know they will be out. Not to mention sometimes you just don't know realize it until later. Cleary finished the game earlier this year after Stuart broke his foot on a shot, Datsyuk finished the game with a broken wrist, etc....Different injuries but it shows the will these guys have to finish what they started.
-
More like a sore ******... Nope, pretty much clowe just going after Abby. Abby was just standing his ground and Clowe dropped em and started throwing. Watch for yourself, apparently from an angle you didn't see...
-
There was a reason I wore my Mo jersey today. $92 for a ticket?!? Do it! Buy two and find some random person to go with. I can't imagine you couldn't find someone in Detroit willing to go to the game. I paid almost that much for tickets to the Wings game in Dallas, regular season, nothing on the line. Totally worth it. I spent about $1K to go to my first Wings game at the Joe, flight, ticket, etc...and I sat by myself. I'll do it again this year when we make the Finals.
