Not to mention ATL and CAR play each other tonight, better hope that's not a three-point game.

Wait...you mean you didn't start this thread to bash Abby? I think he has been more physical lately, too. A few games back, I remember somebody took a run at him or hit him hard (think he got laid out behind the net), I told my g/f, lookout, Abby's gonna knock somebody's head off. 2 seconds later, Abby comes flying in off screen slamming bodies. Just the way we like it.
-
That's bulls***. I saw this 'hit from behind' and I don't even know what the fuss is about. I don't see an elbow either. I didn't really see a punch to the face, but the screen shots in a previous post kind of show it better. I'm not saying I like Gillies, but this is ridiculous. They're trying to make an example of the ****** bag, I personally don't think they are punishing this event, but the player.

Figures. I bowl on Wednesdays.
-
Looks great, but....1920x1080?
-
No it wasn't. Stick parallel to the ice around the hands, textbook.

I don't think Rafi or Homer are good candidates based on their career length, they will be retiring not so long after Lids. Z, Dats, Kron, and Flip would be my guess.
-
Not to mention I think he is currently on an 8 game point streak...at least thats what I thought Ken and Mick said last night. How does that saying go, oh yes....haters gonna hate.

Just be glad you can even go to the Joe. I live in TX and have only been once where I had an amazing experience. I sat in 204B, I'm 5'6" and I was cramped to all get out, but you know what, I didn't give a s***. Because I was at the Joe, at a Wings game...the fact that it was game 5 of the Finals really had nothing to do with it, ok maybe a little, but I get just as amped wherever and whenever I see them. For comparison, the american airlines center is damn nice, but its still cramped in the lower bowl. That's the nature of all sports arenas, maximize seating numbers. I don't think I've ever sat comfortably through an event at any arena to be honest. To each his own, but if I could see the ice from the stalls at the Joe I'd gladly buy that ticket as well. I just want to watch some damned hockey.

Ya, because Philly has never played in a WC either... In my opinion, I didn't want teams playing in it twice, until Pittsburgh did, so why not Detroit?
-
I'm all for Crunklin coming back! Was pretty disappointed when we let him go. Didn't Holland make a statement about not being able to keep bringing in old goalies though?

With the exception of the Pistons, look at how close those cities are to the main city though. They are more like suburbs. Now, Ann Arbor and Auburn Hills are a substantial way from Detroit, so I can understand people would make a fuss about it. If you live in Arlington, you basically live in Dallas. Same for Glendale and Phoenix. There are 90 cities where I live, but they are all really one big city, although technically a "metropolitan area". Not sure Ann Arbor fits into the Detroit Metro area. I don't really have an opinion because I'm not from Detroit so I can't speak for people and their feelings towards venues, but if there were a WC in Detroit I would think Ford Field as ideal. It's in Detroit, they could easily pack 70,000+ in there, and it fits the bill. Actually, I'm not sure why everyone just assumed The Big House would be a candidate, merely b/c there was an outdoor college hockey game there recently....? Ok, so I just looked it up and feel like an idiot b/c Ford Field is an indoor stadium. I'll go back to my corner now. I agree, baseball stadiums suck for hockey. Front row is like 12 million feet from the ice.

I don't like Bettman, one bit, but I didn't see a threat anywhere in there. Not like this post insinuated. Is it even possible to be threatened by a midget?
-
I saw this live. I was explaining to my girlfriend the reasoning behind it. I saw it as a sign of respect, but apparently he didn't know any better. He didn't just come up with that on his own though, he had to have known, too much of a coincidence if you ask me. I thought it was effin awesome either way!
-
Too bad even if it were in MI you can't just buy tickets to the WC. Didn't anybody see all the contests they had where you could win a CHANCE TO BUY tickets? It doesn't matter anyways, it's not happening. Not any time soon anyways.
-
That was hilarious. BizNasty is ridiculously funny.

I agree. I understand the rule is there so teams can't hide players, but still...it is retarded. At no point should a player be required to play for a team they don't want to. Only if they signed a contract with that team.
-
I was joking. It was a play on HankthaTank's comment. Why so serious?

While we're waiting for the game to start and Nabby to sign. This is interesting: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=550086

It's cuz he's black, eh?
-
You are correct, but he would have to clear waivers again to be traded.
-
There is none. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about because we already discussed we can't simply trade back for him. Not without him being put right back on waivers again.
-
I must know more. This suspense is killing me. I don't even want to leave work for the fear of news breaking while I'm away from technology.

Jimmy ain't going nowhere.

Which 3 games did he get pulled? The colorado game, then he got hurt the next game, no? I only remember one time in the last few games he was pulled. The dive.
