Good to know I'm not alone thinking this was non-sense. People last night were making me second guess myself.

I don't even consider what Quincey did as a hit. He was stopping just like Getzlaf, except he didn't toe pick. As mentioned above, that play happens 30 times a game and is never given a second look. Q was a good 2 feet away from the boards at any time in the play. No, because McLeod actually barreled into him. He never tried to stop, let up, or do anything to prevent slamming Kronwall into the boards. He also actually drove his head into the boards by contact, which contributed to the injury. Charging, boarding, call it what you will. It may have been part Kronwall's fault for turning into it, but that's two different scenarios IMO. There is a reason McLeod was suspended and Quincey was not.

I didn't think the hit was that bad (wait for it) EXCEPT for the ginormous charge all the way across the ice. If he didn't come flying in at 60MPH Schenn wouldn't have flown 30 feet into the boards.

I heard several times it was referred to as 'Orpik out cold'. I'm not defending Thornton, because that was indeed a mugging that shouldn't have happened so I guess it's rather irrelevant whether Orpik sold it or not. Just an observation is all.

After I've really had time to look at this....I'm not even convinced Orpik was knocked out, or hurt for that matter. I think he was embellishing it....a lot. IMO he never goes limp, as players are falling on him he kind of moves around. If you want to know what happens when someone goes limp, see Kronwall/Havlat.
