I think someone mentioned it earlier, but this is just ridiculous. This is what you see in the All-Star shootout competitions. I am floored they allow this. Not only did he pull that weird s***, but he also tried a spin-o-rama. WTF?
-
LOL. I kindly disagree. For many folk in the NHL, this is entirely a possibility. Dats could certainly do it, but I'm sure he'd get laughed at, because it really is silly. In the end, I guess it doesn't matter, it's legal and it gets them points. I'd do it too if that was the case, but I don't have to like it.
-
Actually it does matter. The head has to be targeted as well as be the principal point of contact, to suspend for a head-hit.

We are the Detroit Red Wings and we are making the playoffs

Would you rather they missed the playoffs all together? I don't see how that is beneficial to anyone. You can't win the tournament if you're not in it. In that case, maybe the Wings should just move to the A. That way we can at least play for the Cup. Oh, yeah, not that cup, the other one. -
Because he takes 30 seconds to finish his 'move'. He is nothing short of standing there stick handling. There should be limitations on what can be done. The intent of a penalty shot (or the SO) is to emulate a breakaway. If you did that during a breakaway, you'd be leveled. At least you could possibly pull off a spin-o-rama on a breakaway. Kane just takes too long and it should be disallowed. I guess I'm surprised more guys don't do that since they allow it. I just scoured the rules looking for a time limit. I guess they don't have one. These are the procedure rules, including verbiage to address lacrosse-style goals and the spin-o-rama. I still think it's funny people think "The Michigan" is illegal. That was just on my mind since I heard someone claim it was the other day.

What I don't understand is: Exhibit A: Guy finishes check, no injury, typically = praised for finishing check. Exhibit B: Guy finishes check, injury occurs, typically = dirty hit. Perry will only get a suspension (for a head hit, they could still suspend him for something else if they want) if BOTH of these criteria are met: 1: Principal point of contact is head 2: Targeting of the head I don't believe Perry targeted his head. If Zucker had his head up, quit looking at his pass, and paid attention to who was around him, he would have taken that hit and there would have been no call. Perry could have let up a little, but I really don't think he expected that to be the outcome of that hit.

I was gonna mention the Kane thing too. Look ma, I can skate 1/4 mph and stick handle! When I play NHL 13, if I take too long, they blow the play down. Why don't they do that in real life? Is there supposed to be a time limit? And that Canucks SO goal was bogus.

Dubinsky is hurt. Close to returning I think though. I guess I don't understand why the BJs would trade Nash for him then turn around and let him go too.

So....do we score today? -
Ah, okay. Thanks for the details.
-
Did you watch the video? He wasn't in the middle of anything. He was holding the player back when said player decided it was a good idea to get an inside upper cut on him.
-
That's awesome.

Am I the only one that found it odd that the ref held onto his jersey as he was dragged around the ice?

What I like about that hit, was that is set the stage for Clowe to run his mouth and proceed to get run over by Nik the next game. Back to back hits in back to back games; also ices the cake that Clowe missed a game or two after that and refused to acknowledge it was caused by a Kronwalling. On a side note, my domain expired last night and I just renewed it this morning. So if you get a GoDaddy parked page, it's only temporary, and once the DNS re-propagates across the Internet it will work again; should be tomorrow at worst. It may already work for some of you.

Mods, if you feel this violates any of the terms feel free to remove this post and let me know. I'm sure you will anyways, just saying... LGWers...I need your assistance and feedback. I am looking for help compiling a list of all the people that have been Kronwalled as well as some feedback. I built a site that will serve as a running list and correlating videos. I will add any new hits to the site so now you can find all the hits in one easy place. What I need: Did I miss any hits? If so, please provide who, a link to the hit, and if at all possible, the date the hit happened. I have a few more names on my list that have not been added, mainly because it's hard to find individual videos for them. Feedback on the site. Does it work in your browser? Does something look awesome, stupid, wrong? Please let me know. I'm open to all criticism. Without further ado, I present to you: Kronwalled.net

If he leads the league in points, I don't see why not. Isn't that why Karlsson won it last year? Granted, he was leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else though. Currently, Letang has 21 points over Kronwall's 18, in three less games. Also a +5 compared to Nik's -3. And since I know people are lazy, just click here: http://www.nhl.com/ice/playerstats.htm?season=20122013&gameType=2&team=&position=D&country=&status=&viewName=summary#?navid=nav-sts-indiv

Already a topic here, but it could have probably had a more descriptive title. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/74101-this-needs-to-be-addressed-in-the-hockey-world/

Don't feel bad, when his mask design came out, I literally didn't figure it out for a week and still had to ask someone. I knew the Peter/Petr part but never made the Griffin/Griffins connection for some reason.
-
Ah. I saw the halo but couldn't make out the text. Certainly looks like the three names. I wonder what the letters are below that. Looks like a J and then an IV, and under that Howie.
-
Maybe if Calgary bought him out. His contract would kill us, especially with the cap going down.
-
Yep, new mask. Not sure when he changed it.

That's the best I could find. It was from the NHL Frozen Moments archive from last night's game. I am trying to get into the video archive to see if I can screenshot it from pregame or something. Well, this is from Game 1 of this year. Clearly has the mural on it. Let me check more recent games.
-
I guess maybe it did change. I don't think this is the Lokomotiv mural.
-
I believe Jimmy is still wearing that one. Before that he just had the brick wall (that is still behind that mural) with the words 'Let's Roll'. I'm not sure if he had 'USA' on it as well.
