Tatar did play in Abs' spot, for two shifts. Then that was it. That actually makes me think there was something up with Abby over Babs giving Tatar a chance. What baffles me even more is seeing Abs on the PP.

He would take it, not say anything, and went right back to his spot the next shift. I thought this was a hockey league. Thoughts?

What if this what if that. It wasn't a Bertuzzi-like incident so there is no point in even making that correlation. My comparison to homer was to demonstrate that people take crazy cross checks all game and it's just part of the game. I know this wasn't a hockey play, but it's not like he two handed him in the back of the head. I know it was retaliatory and I know it was away from the play, I just personally think it wasn't that bad. A cross check is a cross check.

I'm not arguing that it wasn't cheap. I'm arguing that happens 100x a night and they don't ever consider suspending. I realize the context of the hit, but I just didn't think it was that bad. Cheap? Yes. Penalty? Yes. Misconduct? Maybe. Suspension? No.

It's a new rule which is why it seems like they don't call it. They have. I've seen it called 4-5x at least during games I've watched. Having said that, I'm not sure Pavs touched it with his hand, and if he did, his hand was still on the stick so it's not like he closed his hand on the puck. They showed a replay of it, from the camera that was facing Pavs on ice level. Puck was behind his gloves/stick, but I didn't see if he touched it or where it went. What I don't get is, they allow hand passes in the defensive zone, but you can't do it off the faceoff? If you're in the d zone, it's a hand pass, nothing more. If you're not in your zone...then it's a hand pass and they call it down. Why assess a penalty? I don't remember which zone they were in, but that's irrelevant, it shouldn't be a penalty.

You really had to watch this game to appreciate the officiating. I was laughing hysterically by the end of the game.

I best remember him as the only guy to hit a fan with a shoe. Although he's right here.

Why don't we just cut to the chase and start the game with cleary and abs on the bench...or you could just send them straight to the box and get our 5-3 out of the way.

I didn't know the caps/flyers were rivals either. I'm actually more surprised NBCSN is picking up the late game as well. I wonder who is calling it?

We all understand how you feel about Franzen, but it's getting tiresome reading the same line regurgitated by you every post. He's lazy but scores goals and has the best cap hit on our team. The thing that annoys me most about that goal being disallowed, is that they blew the whistle because Luongo had 'control' of the puck on a delayed penalty. That was a bogus call to begin with. They got a goal on the PP, but Patty should have had his ES goal stick. You could just see it on his face, like 'you gotta be F'n kidding me.'

I always took the stance as a running back to run into any potential tacklers as hard as I possibly could. Always seemed to make them hesitant the next time I came barreling their way. I once ran into 4 guys and picked up the first....somehow my coach thought it was a good idea to make me nose guard after that. *shrug*
