Mccollum getting the start -
Look at the second bullet in my post above, I'm sure you will have to go through StubHub. I have no idea how that will work though because I'm assuming the seller already received their money for them? I was thinking about this kind of situation earlier today but I honestly don't know. I'd contact StubHub. You can't be the only one that bought them from there.

I'm sure they didn't 'plan' for it, and it sickens me to think it could have been on their minds, but in all honesty you can't fault them for anticipating it, you can't avoid the facts the CBA was expiring. You know what they say: Hope for the best, plan for the worst.

I'm right there with ya. And of course, I just got an official text from the winter classic system. Interesting thing I just read on HF boards. Someone was speculating the writing had been on the wall all along as "this year's" WC logo doesn't have a date, whereas the rest of them had the year integrated into them.

I have had the same feeling. That picture of him on the field at Comerica, he didn't look good.

The refund policy on the NHL site also states all processing and service fees will be refunded, which is great because I've had events cancelled before I never got them back on. I was not happy then. http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=632586

This. Of course, now we run into the dilemma of: to get a refund or wait until next year? I know the overwhelming response would be to get a refund so the NHL feels it, but there is no chance in hell I'm missing this event if it takes place. Somebody else will just buy my tickets up anyways. I'll never be able to get tickets again if I give mine up. That's what Murphy tells me anyways.
-
I was not aware of the refund page. Oh well, now we know it's official.
-
Technically, it's not official yet. The NHL has not issued a statement or cancellation to the press. Therefore, this is currently just a rumor. However, enough sources and reporting this it is hard not to believe.

They normally play back to back games when they are here, maybe fri/sun, but not this year, they are heading to the other TX teams this weekend as you mentioned. I really like going to these games in my Wings gear and sitting close. You normally get a nod or two from the players when they can't help but look. I had Smith look at me last year and tap the glass. That's always cool. I just really need this with the lockout. It's as close to Red Wings hockey I can get. But man, do these teams suck! Rampage have the Barons on Sunday, they are going to get DESTROYED! -
I don't have HBO :/ Maybe I'll take my center ice funds and save them up for next winter so I can have HBO.

From the same TSN article I posted above:

Well, opinions can change. Having said that, I don't know what makes people more confident now that there will be games as opposed to two weeks ago. If anything, those are backwards from what I would expect.

I am excited for this. It's my first live game of the year and I'll get to see some guys play I didn't get to last year. Namely Nyquist, he was called up last time the Griffs were here. Also, Mrazek and Pearce were swapped out, so I'm crossing my fingers Mrazek gets the nod tonight. -
Half the people I told I had tickets to the WC were like, "What's that?" Then again, I am in Texas.
-
And I'm in Switzerland. LOL. I'm lying through my teeth of course.
-
Well, I do need something to put me over the edge...
-
That's why I was curious. I was hoping it was that if they didn't cancel by today they have to pay tomorrow, i.e., they can't cancel tomorrow without a forfeiture of funds. If they are willing to shell out $250K for it, then they might not have plans to cancel it. What's sad about it is I can honestly *almost* say I don't care anymore.
-
So the business day is pretty much over, we have not heard an announcement yet. What do you make of that?
-
Honestly, I could care less how Hawks' fans feel. They got their WC. Plus, this is all about me.
-
That's what has me boiling.
-
While having any games this year would be surprising, the WC was the marquee event of my year. I was more than likely ditching my attendance to the Dallas games for the WC, but as things would have it, we're getting screwed out of the game we've all been waiting for. Still waiting for that announcement to be posted....

Yep. Heck, using that analogy, I bet I'm close to Mexico than I am to you. In all honesty, I wasn't sure how close Switzerland was to Sweden. Now I see they are not neighboring in much regard at all. It's been years since Geography.
