Indeed. The reason I believe that even more is just like they acted like they were 'willing' to negotiate on the 15th to avoid a lockout. It's nothing more than PR. Especially when I watched live footage of Bettman saying he isn't worried about the time frame and there is plenty of time for negotiations...after the season. He clearly wasn't ready then, what would have made him in January? He knew they were going to lockout. Hell, I knew LAST YEAR we were going to a lockout. I'm not taking sides...but I'm also not going to sit here and affirm the league was willing to negotiate in January as a means to slight the PA saying they waited. That's bulls***. Nothing was proved.

Yeah, the league was willing to negotiate in January just like they were willing to negotiate on Sep. 15 to prevent the lockout.

I still don't believe the NHL was willing to negotiate in January until I see some evidence of it. I'm not saying the PA was, but I specifically remember the league NOT being ready until after the season was over.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out with the whole insurance thing.

Well at least they agreed to resume talks MUCH sooner than they did last time. That shows at least a little willingness on both sides. At this point, I'm just anticipating going to as many AHL games as I can. The Griffs will be here 11/2 and the Barons 11/4...they are going to kick our ass. They destroyed us in the playoffs last year without Hall, Eberle, RNH, Schultz.

The fact of the matter is I am one pissed off paying customer. And I'm watchingf****** football. Ack!

OKC had a pretty good team last year too. They steam rolled us in the playoffs. I recall Paajarvi playing for them then as well, then again, it's not like the Oilers had games to play. I'm ready for AHL action. Everyone here is pretty ticked off though, the Panthers/Stars were going to have a preseason game here on Friday. It was going to be mostly AHLers anyways, but the NHL don't roll through this city so we take what we can get. I wasn't even going but that's still pretty weak. At least we actually get a season though, and the games should be a little better with the influx of talent sent down.

You know what was weird. I turned on the TV yesterday and there was this game on where a bunch of guys ran around in the grass playing catch and hugging up on each other. I thought they called it foosball? I don't know, it was rather weird, but without a hockey game to turn to, I just kept watching. ARE YOU LISTENING NHL?

At least there is that. I have been worried they would either cancel the game, or not, the week prior to it. All this talk about the Classic being the first game of the year, if that happens, we are likely to not know until right before it, in which case, I have to find people, transportation, and lodging in a matter of days to make it. Not how I wanted the WC trip to pan out. At least if they cancel it in Nov I'll know. Either way.....I'm getting really tired of this lockout s*** already.

Last I heard he was being pressured to stay and felt obligated. As stated, the Swiss club released him so he could play in the NHL, not the AHL. However, he DID sign a two-way contract, right?

It's going to vary depending on your browser and PDF viewer. In my case, with FireFox and Adobe Reader plugin, after the PDF loads, hover over the document with your cursor and a small menu bar will appear in the bottom middle of the document where you can click on the disk to save.
