Both teams have a very defense-first oriented style. They pretty much sit back and wait for the other team to make mistakes and capitalize on them. Typically not much offensive pressure. Sure they will have offense here and there based on game momentum, but it's going to be primarily defense. It's probably going to be a game of "Let's see who makes a mistake dumping the puck in."

Hopefully less line threads

I needed a few days to collect myself before finally admitting to myself it was over. Pledges fulfilled.

f*** Nashville. Anyone rooting for them makes me sick. I hope someone smashes Weber's face into the glass and gets a $2500 fine, that is the going rate no?

Go Kings! The Bloser's fairy tale ends here.

I can't believe everyone rooting for the Preds and Blues. Team that eliminated the Wings? No thanks. Division rival with petulant fans? No thanks. I'll be pulling for PHX to knock off NSH and LA to take out STL. After that, I couldn't care less. I like the way LA is playing but I also sort of want PHX to pull something off, they finally won a playoff series and all it took was an opponent other than Detroit. In the East, I have wanted OTT to take out NYR simply because if the Wings are out, I want the 'rest of the best' out in the first as well. Wouldn't really matter in the end, but it helps take a little bit of the sting out. WSH to beat Boston because I don't want them winning back-to-back before we do. I don't really have an opinion on the FLA/NJD, the Pens are out in the East and that's all I really care about. I wouldn't mind FLA going far because they are our AHL affiliate (who is also in the Calder Cup for the first time in several years, so I'm actually paying more attention to that at this point). My please-dont-win-s***-list has grown shorter rather quickly, so I can just sit back at watch from this point on. San Jose Nashville Pittsburgh Chicago St Louis Vancouver

Crybaby never won a Conn Smyth. I don't even think he won the Stanley Cup, he was just part of the team that did.
-
It came from Gallagher over at STGT, what else do you expect? Just a bunch of Blosers acting like they've done s***. "Yay, we won our first playoff series in a decade, we're successful!"

Preseason doesn't count. If the coyotes close out their series tonight and move on to play three 7 game series he would still have to miss the first two games of the next regular season.

Who do you blame for this unsuccessfully playoff run

I have always defined hockey as a series of mass chaos and physicality interrupted by moments of incredibly talented display. -
His history and Hossa's injury is what warranted this. I don't have a problem with this decision, he had to be taught a lesson. The part I didn't like was how they emphasized he broke several rules. Most bad hits break several rules but they just call one. As for all the other inconsistencies in the bans, well that's probably best to be kept in another thread.

I am looking high and low for any mention of this, not sure if it just came out, I didn't feel up to checking last night after the epitome we called the Red Wings. At any rate.....Torres gets 25 games for his hit on Hossa. I literally almost fell out of my chair when I read that headline. http://www.nhl.com/i...s.htm?id=629019 I see the other thread now, not sure how I missed it the first time.

Sure it wouldn't affect anything, but it was definitely a ***** move. If they are willing to pull a stunt like this, what's to prevent them from smuggling another puck on the ice?

I was okay most of the day, but now that I am home....anxiety, nervousness, blood pressure, heart rate, BAC....all going up! And something tells me it's an acceptable day to send something else up as well.
-
Yeah, but the crazy thing is while they are 3-1 now, they would have to complete the come back from 3-0.
-
Seriously....I would have just taken it. I wouldn't think they would have gone looking for it. It's like getting fired and they ask you for your uniform back (that is Domino's policy), but we rarely ever asked for anything back unless they were just huge tools to begin with, then we could say that and withhold it from their check. Then again, if they were huge tools, we couldn't get them out of the store quick enough just to be done with them.

Good to know. I just assumed all squiggly writing was related one way or another.

What the.....that is just odd. Translated: That idiot too the head of our people will board as time ran out. Translated:Neil James, should be two or more races. At least that's what Google says for Chinese to English, even though I'm assuming it was Taiwanese. Google don't translate that and automatically chose Chinese, so I ran with that.

One game at a time. There are no more second chances. There is no room for error.. This is as big of a must-win you could ever face. For King (Lidstrom) and Country (Hockeytown). I BELIEVE! LET'S GO RED WINGS!

I was thinking about this all week, how crazy it would be that if things go the way a lot of people expect, because of low odds, that it could be LA, PHX, STL, and NSH coming out of the West. I don't think those are the 4 teams anybody would have expected to emerge before the season started. I'm not sure if I'm more impressed with that or the fact that two of those teams are Pacific division teams, which we all know was the red-headed division this season. As for 3-1 series, I think it's a different beast than 3-0. Game 5 these teams face elimination, as with the Wings, on the road. Most teams tend to show up for an elimination game, at least the first one. If they can pull that win out and go back home and edge that one out, it's a game 7 and anything can happen. You never know, that's why they play the game.

Good to see this kid getting some attention for his abilities, I think we all know he will have a long career here in Hockeytown. http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=628309

And he has no star status. He'll be easy to make an example out of, until someone with star status does something cheap, a la Weber.

You know why I hate this attitude? Because you guys make statements like they won't make it out of the first round, and defend them saying, 'Hey, I'm not gonna be saying I told you so if it hapapnes." Well.....here is proof that is not the case. I know you may not have specifically said that, but people who defend your statements do. And no I don't think Detroit will win. If anything, they will win games 5 and 6 to only drop game 7. But I still hate some people's attitude about the team. I'm already depressed enough, I don't need anybody reminding me. Thanks for clearing that up for us, we had no idea that's how it worked.
