I read that in the article, or one somewhere. That is amazing. Not to take anything away from the kid, but goaltending was a little suspect. It's still an amazing accomplishment for him and his team. I'm sure he, and everyone else, will remember that performance for a long time, especially in such an important game.

Quite possibly. I think the biggest problem is this is like Democrats VS Republican, there are really no innocent parties. We the fans are citizens held hostage by the decisions and posturing both sides are willing to display and expect us to ultimately live by the outcome. In this case, the possibility of no season. Ever watch the movie The Replacements?

Oh, I agree 100%. Bettman said something along the lines of having a good season so far, why ruin that now. Makes me think he knows there is going to be a battle royal. True, but I think it had more to do with that they were never involved before, why would they automatically expect to be now? I agree changes do happen (e.g. salary cap) but there was is precedence that the PA was never involved before, so again, why all of a sudden? Not to mention they can't just come up with a mock schedule overnight, which is what the PA was supposedly asking for. Rumor has it they intentionally requested something that could not realistically be fulfilled pertaining to an issue they had historically never been involved with before.

At the same time, I actually agree with what Bettman had to say about that. The PA was never previously involved in any other schedule change or realignment (according to Bettman), why should they be now? Because CBA 'negotiations' are coming up. Case in point, posturing.

This is not news. Realignment was ruled out as soon at the PA voted against it in what, January? It's already a forgone conclusion realignment will not happen by next season. Assuming there is a season at all. Bettman was also on Costas a week or two ago and made it very clear that CBA negotiations have not and will not begin until the off-season.

Well, the season is not over. Sure the Blues are above the Wings now, but how long were the Wings ahead of the Blues? I'm sure if you were to average the games a team lead over the other, the Wings would have the edge on the Blues. It's all relative to how you quantify it. This is why everyone is calling you a troll and saying you are pretending to get along with everyone, because you throw jabs out there like this acting like you guys are better than everyone else, including the Wings. That is not going to receive a warm welcome around here for obvious reasons. For the record, I don't have a problem with you being here and you generally are well behaved and have decent input, but I will say, it's annoying to read your posts and you condescending tone, especially on a site we call 'ours'. Meh. I understand what you are saying and even agree with it, I think this was just an overzealous thing to do and had no place in this circumstance. The big kicker is he was allowed on the ice a few days prior, so there was already a precedent.

That's a good point. Match ups are less of an issue for teams as it stands. Would you rather have to match up your lines against Zetterberg, or Pavel and Zetterberg? Right now there is only one line for the opposition to contend with, getting Pavel back spreads out the talent on both sides. I guess that brings us back to what we already knew though, we currently have no depth.

Those are two HUGE guys in our lineup. Best two-way forward in the league? Best defenseman in the league? $12 mil that we have sitting on the shelf and can't replace. I'm sure at least Crosby was on IR so they could use his cap space? I'm just guessing, but sounds reasonable.

It's frustrating to watch, but if you think this has nothing to do with injuries you are as high as I want to be. We have roughly 1/3 of our cap inured...how can you not correlate that to the rash of losses? The most frustrating part has to be that it has been affecting the standings which is the hardest to swallow. Sure it would be nice to have Franzen show up for a full 60 minutes, but he can't be expected to carry the entire load; Mule or not. You can definitely tell when he gets angry and turns it on; he just needs to do it more often. For the record, it's 4 SHGA in 8 games. Yes, it still sucks, but if you're going to ***** about it, at least get the facts straight. They only said it about 10 times during the game last night. Sometimes I wonder if people doing the most bitching actually watch the games at all.
