Officials won't let paralyzed player onto ice to celebrate
rrasco replied to grimace1970's topic in General
What a dick move. I second that, I would of rolled him straight to the ice and right over any son of a ***** who tried to stop me. Insurance my ass. Where was the game played? Was there a true home team, perhaps Hill-Murray? I didn't see it mentioned in the article, or I missed it. -
Definitely. I was just saying that AT LEAST in the first hit he made contact with the head, albeit that it was the player with the pucks fault. Second hit just looked like a good clean hard hockey hit.
-
That's exactly what's going on. They come in here and act like they are here to have a conversation about hockey, but it's no coincidence they were here weeks ago when they were doing good, then the Wings tore it up and padded their lead, then we start to get the injury bug and lose a few games and all of a sudden the B-losers are ahead of us and out of the wood work come the knuckleheads again. "B-b-but we're finally relevant, pay attention to us!" I can't wait for them to come crashing down off their coke-binge-high so I can go to every god damn blues forum I can find and incessantly laugh at them for yet again failing to do a damn thing when it mattered most. I'll put money on them choking and I'll do it with a ******* smile on my face. f*** the blues and their stupid ass fans.
-
Seriously. It's one thing to be here conversing about hockey. It's another to come here and start saying 'nanana-booboo blues are better than you'. No matter how you put it, that's essentially what you are doing.
-
That second hit is what blows my mind. At least the first one made contact with the head, but IDK if I consider either hit dirty.
-
I can't believe the day is half over and the game is not for another 9 hours. WTF am I supposed to do when I get home?
-
Oh Blues fans....I guess there are not enough fans in St Lose to have a following of your own so you have to tag along with big brother?

The reason The Wings shipped Mike Commodore
rrasco replied to Wing Across The Pond's topic in General
How likely is it that we sign a college kid and call him right up? Just doesn't seem like the Red Wing way. -
We beat them on Friday, no reason we can't do it again. I want a routing but will settle for anything that ends with 'win' and 2 points. LGRW!!!
-
Yes. It's almost like Mule or Z have said they don't play for regular season. The playoffs are a tournament. Play well in that tournament and you can have success. The 82 games prior to that have little relevance on the tournament.

I just watched this a few minutes ago and was thinking, damn, that was like Datsyuk.

I'm pretty sure Stuart broke his jaw in Calgary. It was Lilja that got messed up that game by Weber which put him out for a year. So are we starting Pearce tonight? LOL. I hope not. LGRW!!!

What do you guys have to say about Filpulla now?
rrasco replied to wingslionstigers's topic in General
While I agree with the premise of this post, the execution has been hilariously horrific. -
I know, right? I'll be at the games in SA in 2 weeks, the only guy left will be Conks.
-
That video rocked. I love how after most of his hits, he just stood there tall like nothing staring down at the opponent. And I don't know how many times I imagined him saying, 'Get back in your ******* bench' during that video.

Mad props to Voracek in that interview. On a side note, why do interviews with Jagr look like they were filmed in the 90s?
-
I agree, to an extent. If someone is injured, as was Voracek, the play should stop. I knew Voracek was out from the way his arms stiffened up from the moment I saw it. As with many things, I just wish they were consistent with it. I can't remember the number of times a Wing was flailing around on the ice and play just continued because the other team had possession. Safety is more important, I won't argue that.
-
Why? They don't blow the whistle if a Wing goes down. That would be almost as bad as the other team trying to start a fight and stopping play. Hits separate people from the puck and typically create scoring chances, it's unfortunate if someone is incapacitated but that's the sport of hockey. We should have scored on that play.

If we end up 4th seed and seeds 6, 7, and 8 win their series, we have home ice at least until the finals. I'm just saying it's possible, so quit saying it's not. We are around .500 on the road, so even without home ice, that doesn't 'automatically put us in a 0-2 hole'. It means we could be 1-1, 0-2, or even 2-0. That's why they play the games, because any team can win on any given night.
-
You have to win the Pres' trophy to win the cup. Duh!
-
Join the club. Fans can be upset, I scream at my TV for 2-1/2 hours straight for some games, but in the end I really do wonder how some people say they support the Wings in any facet when all they do is rip on them 24/7, even when they are playing well, leading the division, the conference, the league. I suppose some people are just destined to be miserable. A few SNs come to mind.
-
You don't know, you assume. I remember a 7th seed Flyers making it to the finals not too long ago. Albeit they didn't win, they got close. Having said that, I'd much rather the Wings take the Central.

McKenzie is reporting no supp disc. I figured it wouldn't be an issue after the NHL.com stories were almost advertising it instead of posting a story about 'Hearing Wednesday for Kronwall'.
-
That's what I'm talking about. After one of the first Kronwallings of the year that was quasi-borderline I was concerned it was going to deter him from making that type of hit again. I don't remember which game, but I think it was his first back hit. After they came out and said it was clean, he went for one the next game too, might have even been the next night. So quite the contrary to deterring him, it almost seems like it encourages him after they are deemed clean. I wonder if that means he's going to lay someone out on Friday.

I was at game 5 in 09, there were a lot of Pens fans, but I didn't think the number was overwhelming. I knew a few people (Pens fans) that traveled to Detroit for the game. I also traveled to the game, but that was a given. I didn't travel to Pittsburgh. Some teams have big followings, then there are game 7s and when there are teams that are not that far away, it's bound to happen.
