Nonetheless, Datysuk is divorced. I highly doubt he single handedly wants his ex-wife to be in sole possession of his daughter, and only be the one to experience her growing up. She's 11 now (IIRC) and will be getting into more and more things. As a father Datsyuk would love to see his daughter on a more consistent basis. He is her WORLD. If you saw any of the videos he posted with her while he was playing during the lockout... oh my god. The guy just loves her, and she loves her daddy. She loves watching him play, and i'm sure she would more than love to have him back in her life on a more consistent basis. As it's been discussed on here, he would still be away from his daughter, but it would be around 5-7 hours instead of across the world. Stuart did have a similar situation, as his wives ex-husband wouldn't allow them to gain full custody. Without that, he held the kid within the state and restricted Stuart from ever moving his family to Detroit. It was the sole reason why he had to go to California, and not stay with Detroit. Because of this, you can see similarities and differences with the given situations. Anyways, did anyone else see what Pasha posted this morning via tweeter and facebook? "Morning backyard Soccer"

Winter Classic 2014 announcement Sunday at Joe Louis Arena

Did you get a price quote from Detroit Athletics by any chance? -
Some new updates on Datsyuk.... 23. Pavel Datsyuk's agent, Gary Greenstin, was in Toronto visiting client Mikhail Grabovski. We talked about rumours Datsyuk will play the last year of his contract next season, then go back to Russia. Greenstin said he'd just been in Detroit and talked with Ken Holland. He wouldn't go too deeply into those conservations, but it did sound like they discussed the possibility of an extension. (Datsyuk cannot sign anything until July 5.) He added that if Datsyuk stays, it will be with the Red Wings. "Playing with one team is very important to him." http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/opinion/2013/04/30-thoughts-craig-mactavish-poised-to-shake-up-oilers.html http://kuklaskorner.com/hockey/comments/hockey-thoughts-on-a-tuesday-afternoon1

signed Official: Howard signs 6-year, $31.8m contract extension

I'm almost positive he's being sarcastic to this ridiculous thread we had earlier this season.... http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/73716-howard-average/ -
I honestly think he would've atleast brought in a 2nd/3rd round pick... normally anything is better than allowing them to walk for free over the summer. Center's don't grow on trees and many teams desire to add more center depth, it's the one positive you can never have enough of. Maybe I falsely used "grand", sure, but he would've gotten us a nice return regardless of this seasons performance. In the end, we're just going to speculate because we don't know what the offers were. That's exactly why I said I'm not going to jump to conclusions immediately.
-
Saw this on HFB; You guys know i'm normally a Holland fan, and I stick up for him. I can't jump to conclusions as much as I want, but i'm going to be a little butthurt to watch Filp walk this offseason when we could've gotten a grand return from a contender.

Semin re-signs with Carolina: 5 years, $35 million ($7M/yr)

I thought about it before I had hit enter but it's alittle hard to read. I should've been more clearer before hitting enter. What I meant is that he knew Columbus would offer him a great paycheck and he would be close to home. He didn't need to hit free agency. He was content with the huge paycheck that Columbus paid out because it's what he was looking for. The man simply doesn't and didn't like Detroit, but he got as close as he could to Michigan with the paycheck. -

Couldn't convince him enough to wear 64. Not good enough. -

He could of, but that would've been a waste would it have not? Wiz was already set on not coming to Detroit, he labeled off exactly why he went to Columbus. Even in the interviews he said that the minute Columbus called he made him and his agent go meet with them. It was close to his home, and he was going to get big $$$. That's all he wanted, secure huge paycheck and close to home. His agent even said that he would've gotten more money in free agency, he just didn't care. There was no helping Wiz, the dude's mind was already made. We can sit here and complain about it non-stop similar to Hossa or we can realize that he simply doesn't like Detroit. When you don't get free agents, you have to look at other options. Holland went with what he could get. Would you have rather him not get anyone at all? Carlo I honestly don't have problems with, as long as he can stay healthy. This season wasn't the best, but we can't see the future and maybe it seems more brighter. I know the pattern isn't looking good for him, but thing's aren't always so static. White, I think he is an alright defensemen but he has fallen deep into a hole he won't get out of. He doesn't have wheels, and he hesitates his first pass which makes the lanes close. Sammy... ugh, i'm not a hater but he's certianly frustrating this season, i'll give you that. Quincey... I don't hate his play as much as I hate his personality. He isn't the worst, but paying a 1st round pick certainly hurt. Holland wanted his baby back. -

I get the whole don't want to pay market value, but Wiz didn't even give the Wings a glance... I don't know how you can even fault Holland for that when he couldn't even pitch an offer at the guy. Wiz was hard-headed and didn't even want to field an offer. The guy is money grabbing and his quote says it right there. I would rather have players that think of the team, not their wallet. -
Well Calle Jarnkrok is done with his little stint with the GRR. Here's some quick quotes from him: Lidstrom speaks about Jarnkrok: Jonathan Ericsson speaks about Jarnkrok:

Tomorrow could be a big day for separation in the standings. Detroit plays Calgary and Columbus plays Anaheim. If we would come out with a win, and Anaheim does a huge favor in beating CBJ in regulation, we would have 2 points over Columbus with a game at hand. Minnesota plays tonight against Edmonton. If Edmonton wins, it would put us in place to tie with Minnesota, but they have 1 ROW over us. St.Louis plays Vancouver tonight, in which we need Vancouver to win. If all those things go right come the end of Wednesday night we could be looking at this: 6- Minnesota 49 pts (19 ROW) / 43 GP 7- Detroit 49 pts (19 ROW-if we win in regulation/OT against Calgary) / 43 GP 8- St.Louis 48 pts (20 ROW) / 42 GP 9- Columbus 47 pts (15 ROW) / 44 GP 10- Dallas 45 pts (19 ROW) / 42 GP I think I got everything correct, but others can scan over it and give me some corrections if needed.

Columbus and Minnesota win

Thanks Colorado, trying to watch some game center lying with the lady and you ******* wake me back up with your s***tyness. Great. I screamed at that horrible play. If he stayed backwards he would've easily intercepted the puck, but inside totally turn your back to the player and allow him in for a breakaway. Jesus Christ.
-
We also have a game at hand with Columbus. That's the biggest selling point with them and Dallas. We were all tied at 45, but Columbus had already played a game over both us and Dallas. Hopefully Colorado can come out big tonight and beat them. That would cause some better separation between us and Columbus, and tonight Chicago created a little air pocket between us and Dallas. Boys, our old division rival just helped us out tonight. Let's take that and run with it.
-
Chicago 5-2 open netter, looks like they did us a big favor (because they swept us and felt bad). Columbus and Colorado are tied at 1 currently Minnesota is up by 2 against Calgary
-
You crossed the line, get back over here.

I think you're overplaying this injury like he's currently a vegetable. His back was pretty bad at first, but it's been getting better. The main objective was his push-off on one leg, otherwise he wasn't feeling that bad. He's got outstanding doctors that will ensure he is more than ready to play, remember, he has to get cleared to play.

Cheering for the hawks, or cheering indirectly for the Wings? Perspective! Haha 4-2 Hawks, Hjammeronsoasbfajsf son.

3-2 Hawks, Shaw See, they listened to me guys.

Chicago, I don't care if you played last night. Get back in this thing and stop screwing us over. Thanks.

2-1 Chicago, Benn
