Concerned - we might not make it in to the playoffs
evilzyme replied to RedWingsRox's topic in General
You do realize who's role he is playing right? Bertuzzi's. Tell me another player that can play that role on this line-up. Keep complaining but at the end of the day, Pavel wants Abby on his line because he provides the support Bertuzzi did. When Bertuzzi comes back, or we get another person who can fill in that role, it's going to Abdelkader. I doubt anyone would continue the ways of that line if it wasn't for injuries. It's not that hard to understand, really. -

Babcock is switching up lines for San Jose; I could see Brunner and Miller alternating between the 2nd and 3rd line. -
No one knows, it's all just pure speculation. Holland said Pasha nor his agent had said anything about it to him, nor have they had talks. Holland proceeded to say that him and Pavel will sit down at the end of the season before he goes back to Russia for the summer. Pavel tweeted jokingly that Mr.I had no more money for him after he signed Verlander. It really wouldn't surprise anyone if he did indeed left though. His daughter is his heart and soul and she's getting to the age where he should be there for her. He never moved his daughter here because he wanted her to experience the Russian culture; grow up with it. On the flip side, there's quotes like him joking around with Mr.I and that Redmon and Daniels had said they really believe he'll sign an extension for another 1-2. So who knows, it's all pure speculation. If he hasn't told Holland, and they haven't sat down and talked about it, I highly doubt anyone really knows his true intentions. He still has another season to play here next year, and many things could change. We all won't know until he does something.

Saw all of that this morning, good for him. Not always wise to go public with something that could've been dealt with in house but it sure is one way to get your point across and heard. And you know they got those plans cancelled. I can imagine the first avs player that is spotted in Vegas during the offseason is going to get lit up with headlines

I think his hockey sense is strong, as it's one of his best qualities. Right now he's simply trying to get adjusted to smaller ice which is a big deal. At first he had the headway with the other overseas players with conditioning compared to the other players whom did not play during the lockout. Right now he's dealing with adjusting to a smaller ice surface, a more gritter game, faster decision making, longer distances of travel, and the most hockey he's played during his career. I think next year, should he re-sign with us, will be the real telling season for Brunner. At the same time he wasn't scoring goals during that stretch, he was still putting in assist. He was helping the play. The most assuring, or at-least a great quality I see in Brunner is his willingness to adapt and change his game. From the start of the season up until present day, I can see that he works more aggressively on the forecheck. He has more drive, doesn't float as much as he did originally. He knows that he has to keep moving. Defensively he's a worlds of a difference from when he first started. He isn't stellar, but he can actually hold accountable of his man.

He's not going to play hockey, right, this year, I don't think,'' Babcock said after Tuesday's practice. We got to get ourselves in the playoffs and be ready to go without him.'' I'm trying to stay positive,'' Helm said. I think my spirits are a little bit higher than they have been. It feels better but still can't really put any time on what's going on. I've been skating for a while, working out for a while, working really hard. It's just that I still feel pain, feel a lot of discomfort. I don't know if one day I'll wake up and feel great or it's going to be kind of gradual thing.''

That's just horrible news to start the day. In the long run, hopefully this is going to provide him with many more years of hockey.

He just said it today on a local Vancouver radio station he normally appears on. I grabbed it via HFB and thought it would be an interesting conversation piece for over here. If he can't release the terms of the proposal, all of this will most likely hold no substance. It would be really interesting to know what was the deal between CGY and DET. Media reports that we didn't want to give up our 1st, but McGuire is saying our's blew theirs out of the water. Hmm... I wonder if we didn't include a pick but rather more prospects and a bigger deal of players. Calgary could've shot that down because they wanted the pick?
-
So Pierre McGuire just came out and said that Detroit actually had a way better offer for Bouwmeester but Calgary rejected it and went with the Blues. He can't give out full details because of confidentiality but I highly doubt he is trying to blow smoke up some where. So... do we all want to keep hating on Holland? The guy is obviously trying his best.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQN74ZA41go fkn all-star man in all seriousness, keep him away from our team.

Yes, he's 6'5 IIRC. He's talking about Cordeu, not Patterson.
-
You just gotta love Babcock. He's all about the game right now. Love the attitude.

I personally don't see them selling the franchise. I thought his son(s) were already in decent positions within the franchise and most likely taking over in the future? Who knows!

He played real good for his first game. You could see how nervous he was when they had him scoped in and he could barely hold onto the Gatorade bottle and his hands were shaking bad. Nice to see him make some good defensive plays. I like that reach of his, real active in the lanes. He made sure the crease was clear and that no one got near Jimmy, I loved that. Wasn't over physical but allowed his body play to restrict a lot of space. I really liked it.

I think San Jose was more inclined to roll Burns upfront because he was drafted as a forward. He just holds more value on the back end. I don't believe Smitty played up front ever in his career so it would be harder for him. I know you're not being 100% serious but floating the idea, I just wanted to add a little more to it!

6'3" + skates and shoulder pads and he'll look a bit bigger

Way to capitalize on that Goose. Looking real good.
-
I love the shuffling Babs, now let's do something with it boys. Let's start it strong and sustain the pressure! GOGOGOGOG
-
Babcock said there will be a "wholesale" change and all 3 defensemen that weren't playing last night will be playing tonight. He certainly wasn't happy with the game last night, either should anyone.
-
Discuss. Hawks just tied it at 3 late in the third. I'm actually cheering for the Hawks. I feel absolutely dirty. I'm also cheering for Vancouver, oh my god I want to puke.
-
Rough second period boys, let's pull it together in the third here.
-
And the Blues won.

I can't deny it, I loved Conner when he was here. That third line with him and helmer was insane. On real note, let's get things going here boys, what the HELL!
