Yeah atleast I remember at the beginning, the SEL wanted full contracts and issued out a statement saying that they would not allow players to come over strictly to play in absence of a NHL season. Then I think someone had come down on them and said they coudn't do it so they had lifted the ruling. I do remember Zett saying that he didn't want to go play anywhere because he wanted to be a major player in getting the new CBA hammered out, but you can see his point via the interview. Especially with the KHL and their 3 NHL player limit and what not, i'd suck being one of the last players "waiting" to go to Europe only to realize theres no home for you. Players were saying that homes overseas were harder and harder to find, therefore it had influence on their decision too (don't know if Zett has a summer house in Sweden or anything (well, Emma has to have a place atleast....)).

we should never have to "rebuild" with this front office. our front office is amazing at development and scouting. i strictly believe we need to retool due to parity becoming so apparent. the game has changef look at tendies... you gotta be 6' minimum basically now and the standup is a lost art. butterfly and hybrids have taken over. gear has changed. moral of the story this franchise doesnt rebuild , they retool.

wouldn't make that much sense especially with his development. he would be doing himself some justice playing in the ahl while the lockout takes place to transition into the.north american game. it would only hurt him.and his chances of playing in the big show if he were to stay there. just my two cents. sounds.like the kids got his head on his shoulders though and has a really.good attitude. excited to see what he can bring.to the table after his translation to the n/a game

this is one of the biggest things i don't understand from the owners point of view. congratulations, you invested and want to make money on your investment, you deserve and rate that. The players are the ones that are providing that entertainment, they are your employees, they are the ones having the endure the physical labor of a 82+ game season that is physically and mentally draining. they're the ones that have to spend time away from their families and live according to your franchise. you're not the one out there throwing the body around, you're not the one that some kid is idolizing, the fans that generate your paycheck came to see your employees not you.

It probably lies with because he is the spokesperson of the owners. If the season were to start on time, regardless of things, the owners would technically be under 43% RS, with the players still getting the majority. I'm not sure if they can backdate the CBA to where regardless they can start the season under the terms of the old CBA but once the new one comes out they magically backdate everything from the original start of the season. I'm not even sure if i'm making sense. The owners don't want to budge at all with their proposal, it just seems like they're the ones unwilling to allow the season to start on time if the new CBA isn't hashed out before Sept. 15th. Short version, I think the owners don't want to allow the players to get their 57% of RS for any period of time this upcoming season, therefore they won't allow the beginning of the season to be played on the terms of the old CBA.
